Yeah, I can see that now

. What I ended up doing was to put everything but the Pearl Harbor sector under AI control, then when things stabilise a bit, (if they do) I can take back control of some areas.

Really enjoying it so far though. I recalled playing PTO on my Sega Genesis way back when, and thinking, "If only it had more detail.....", and now, 15 yrs later, I have it!

Having the manual up behind WitP and alt-tabbing back and forth has been really helpful (only took me 2 hrs to think of it

)

The only downside so far is that in the sector, I'm controlling, not much is happening yet,(it's Dec. 20/41, and I've nailed a few subs and a couple transports, repulsed a couple weak attempts at invading Wake) so the AI is taking a lot longer to complete it's turn than me. Although I'm sure once things heat up and especially after I retake control of CBI and Australia/NG, this won't be the case.

Having a blast so far, tomorrow I'll likely have a "noob" question thread (I'll try to ask questions that keep RTFM responses to a minimum

)

Skipster, welcome...

I would suggest putting China on AI control, as well as Russia. But you really want the other sectors under your control because it's unlikely the AI will "stabilize" them for you, as you put it. The AI is decent, but this game is really too big for it to run effectively.

Don't worry about "noob" questions - always welcomed and quickly answered around here in my experience...
