Is that good news or bad, I discovered this game a week or so ago and the traffic has gone very quiet, is the release close?

It's the quiet before the storm. The game is in the final phase of testing and is supposed to be released within two weeks.

There is a separate, permission-only Beta-tester forum that's getting most of the attention recently. Sorry for the lack of information--we are (if all goes well) getting very near release, so wish us luck!

I have a question about the release of the game. Are the packages purchasable at the same time in Asia as in America? Though I saw the outlets here are packed with other Napoleonic games like IG and Cossacks - Napoleonic War (they are no match, of course :p).

Matrix usually offers their games via digital download. Should be available from anywhere with internet access eventually.

boy, I wish I had taken more notice of my german lessons at school a hundred years or so ago! great stuff, all I need now is my Broadband company to upgrade the exchange, so I can get ADSL in the next week or or earlier so I can D\L this game.

I didn't buy any game totally via digital dl. How long would it take to hv the whole of CoG dl'ed to my HD, w/ ADSL in use? Would it take much longer as I am far from the US, like in Japan? Would I be given a serial no, like one i could get if i bought a package from a store, so I could dl the game again in future (e.g. when file corruption occurs)?

If you have DSL or cable, then digital download is the way to go...if you have a cd burner, you can always burn the setup files onto a cd for safekeeping should the need arise to reinstall. And I always put the serial number on the cd that I store a game using a permanent ink pen...where you live really does not matter when downloading the game, what is more important is how many people are dl'ing the game at the time you want to...if the host site has a narrow bandwidth, that can be a pain but I have never experienced a problem when downloading a game through Matrix......

Naomi, et. al.

Crown of Glory should weigh in around 400Mb. Assuming you have around 640k DSL, it will take around 1 Hour and 20 minutes to download the full game. You'll get a serial number when you place the order and it will be e-mailed to you as well. If the download aborts or is corrupt, you can always re-download within the first 30 days after the order by going to www.findmyorder.com.

The download speed should not be affected by your being in Japan. Your own internet connection and your internet provider will be the main determinants on the speed of your dowload as our servers have more than enough bandwidth to handle many, many simultaneous downloads.

We advise backing up the game installer to CD once you have downloaded it, writing the serial number on the CD and keeping it in a safe place. If you have any problems, just e-mail us at support@matrixgames.com

Regards,

- Erik
