I've noticed that often my searches of the forum seem to return no results, even though I know there must be some matches. It just happened again, and an immediate repeat of the same search got me the answer I was after. It seems that the failed searches all report no matches after around 30 secs. Has anyone else had the same experience?

If so, and if the problem is caused by a timeout when the search query doesn't return the results within 30 secs, is there any chance of increasing the query timeout to aid in sifting through the vast amount of knowledge that's now sequestered here? Or is there anything else that can be done?

Ever since latest forum software upgrade I am experiencing the same thing...

BTW, if I search with "user name" I usually get answer (the problem is, IMHO, if you leave the "user name" field empty)!

I had the same problem for a while. I happened to change the 'Time Filter' field from "All Topics" to "1 Year" and now it works fine. (Except of course, that it only searches for the past year.. but given the patches and such, that isn't a big hinderance.)

The changed the searching routines because some Jap fanboys were complaining that the Allied fanboys were getting too many hits.
