Thanks Joe!

Pretty soon I'll be using this AAR as a sounding board as well. Once Noumea falls (if it does!) then aside from cleaing up Luganville and Lunga and doing some convoy raiding in the south Pacific, I will be going defensive in my area. Then the question becomes, where will the Allies hit first, and what are some of the best ways to defend our holdings. I have my thoughts, but it is always good to ask the readers what they think.

War Report 3/22/42
Akyab and Yenen were both hit hard by many Sally bombers today.
Troops continued to unload at Samarinda through the night and launched an attack on the base in the morning, driving off the Dutch defenders with ease. Some T.IVa's and Brewsters were captured on the ground.
At Palembang the 56th Division, supported by 2 armored regiments and a field artillery group began unloading. Some damage was taken from the coastal defenses but nothing that put the landing in danger. Also, the AP Meiyo Maru and the AP Taibun Maru hit mines while on approach taking a fair amount of damage. During the day, Martin 139's attacked twice but no hits were scored.
Near Balikpapan, the British fleet stood its ground in the face a Betty bomber attacks from all directions. Although a few hits were scored on the BB Resolution, the Battleships heavy armor repelled most of the hits, although a 20mm guns was hit and destroyed.
Royal Navy 20mm AA gun.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
In a surprise night attack, a small US Task Force of six destroyers led by the light cruiser Detroit showed up at Canton Island. The AP Tatsuta Maru which had been moored up and was empty was shelled and torpedoed repeated and sunk. The ships then came proceeded to shell the airfield destroying a Kate and an Emily. By daybreak the Task Force had left and could not be located. Bettys from Canton Island did however spot several cargo ships at Upolu, proceeded to attack but failed to score any hits. Gunboats at nearby Pago Pago have been ordered to attack the cargo ships tomorrow as they appear to have no escort.

At Noumea, the Battleships shelled the base as planned although they failed to hit the port or the airbase. Some casaulties were still inflicted however. As the sun came up the battleships had to cease their shelling as they spent the day fighting off multiple waves of 2 and 4 engined bombers, shooting down and damaging many with their AAA. Several hits were scored, but again the heavy armor of the battleships kept them safe.
Farther north on the island, the landing force made its approach in broad daylight on Koumac and was also set upon by Allied LBA. Several ships were hit and one was sunk but losses to men and material were light. The troop transports launched a swarm of landing craft and barges and put a tremendous amount of men onto the shoreline as the day wound down. Koumac being unoccupied helped minimize the losses tremendously. Some elements of these troops will move further inland tomorrow to secure the northern end of the island.
Over both the battleships and tranports, occasional pairs of Zeros would show up to provide cover, but they were hopelessly outnumbered. They still took down several Allied escorting P-40E and P-40Bs, but due to the poor tactical situation most Zeros that showed up were shot down. Because of this, LRCAP will now be limited to covering the 38th Division as it approaches Koumac over the next couple days, and also providing escort if any enemy ships approach the carrier group.

War Report 3/23/42
Palembang ground forces hit by over 40 Betty bombers. British Swordfish launch an attack on tranport task forces near Borneo, sinking the PC Shonan Maru #17 and damaging the AP Matsukawa Maru. Several planes launched torpedoes at the lucky Suzanami, but again it dodges all attacks.
Also of note is that the Yamato has finished trials and fitting out and is now ready for operations in Kure. This massive ship can only help our fortunes in this war.
Yamato under construction.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
The transports spotted yesterday at Upolu evacuate and leave the island before our gunboats arrive. Since the island is now unoccupied, SNLF units enroute to Pago Pago are ordered to change course and immediately occupy Upolu.

At Noumea, the battleships have a much better evening and hit the airfields pretty hard, destroying 11 aircraft on the ground. The next morning, two engined bombers attacked our ground troops at Koumac, while the four engined bombers attacked the ships. The AP Tamaki Maru is the only ship damaged. Ground forces rushed inland and suceeded in securing Koumac. They are immediately heading south to La Foa, where Emily recon indicates a small garrison unit is present. All ground forces have now reached land. There are some 40,000 tons of supplies that are now being unloaded across the beaches at Koumac as fast as is possible. The 38th Division also continues its approach.

Sub Ops:
The I-29, Glen-equipped submarine, was declared operational today at Port Arthur. It will leave tomorrow to head to its new base of operations at Makin. After some minor technical difficulties we are back!

War Report 3/24/42
Relatively quiet again. Martins from Batavia launched several ineffective attacks against the ships at Palembang as well as those ships still on the way there.
The ground forces began assaulting Palembang, making decent gains in the early fighting.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
Two landing forces moved into Upolu and easily secured the island. The garrisson had cleared out in a hurry, there were still 3 damaged Coranados on the airstrip.
With this capture, the far Southeast Pacific is now secure and defensive preparations take precedent. Three construction units are in various stages of the journey from Kwajelein to various defensive points at Samoa, Canton Island and Fiji.

At Noumea, bad weather prevented the Allied bombers from finding any targets in the morning. In the afternoon a small group of 10 four engined bombers, escort be many P-40E and B's, attacked the transports carrying the 38th Division. 10 Zero's on LRCAP downed several US aircraft, but couldn't touch the bombers. Luckily the only ship hit was the MSW Hakata Maru #7, which took one 500lb bomb, but is still floating. The landing forces will make it to port by tomorrow and the 38th Div will begin unloading at Koumac.
Once the 38th is safely unloaded, KB will head to Rabaul. From there it will be transferred to Gen Mantill's command.

The fast cruisers and light carriers that will be patroling the US and Australian shipping channels also set out from Palau to Truk today.

Sub Ops:

War Report 3/25/42
Martins from Batavia continue to launch ineffective attacks against the ships at Palembang. While moving in to unload the Kaimyo Maru struck a mine at Palembang.
Another attack on Palembang dropped the forts another level.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
Betty's from Canton Island twice attack a convoy of 7 or 8 ships, but only managed hits on a couple of those ships. Still, they are far from any friendly port so even a couple bombs could be fatal. Casaulties were reported, so they are likely the ships that were at Upolu just a couple days ago.

At Koumac, the transports unloading the 38th Division moved in at night and began unloading rapidly. During the day, several transports were hit by the bombers, but the 38th is approximatley 75% unloaded. The remaining elements should be able to unload tonight before the bombers return. Also, 25,000 supply has been unloaded so far, with another 25,000 still unloading. With most of the valuables unloaded, the KB has been given orders to return to Rabaul for reorganization prior to the trip to Palau and then Singapore.
Allied bombers take a heavy toll on the ships unloading at Koumac.

War Report 3/26/42
The Allies bite back today in a series of naval actions on both sides of the war!

First in the DEI, Bettys from a couple locations bombed the enemy troops at Palembang to help with the ground fighting going on there. Althought the IJA pushed again, little ground was gained.
In the morning, British carrier aircraft appeared over a transport fleet headed by the heavy cruiser Ashigara. Martins from Batavia were flying with the Swordfish and although the Dutch planes missed, the Swordfish managed to put two torpedoes into the AP Achou Maru, and, far worse, three fish into the Ashigara.
Allied airstrike on CA Ashigara

The three torpedoes started fires and flooding in portions of the ships, but it was still making a fair amount of speed when a small surface group closed in on the transport fleet east of Palembang.
The Ashigara before being hit.

The light cruisers Dauntless and Capetown, along with the destroyer Vendetta showed up looking for easy kills among the transports, assuming the Ashigara was out of action from the Stringbag attack. However, Captain Ichinomiya on the Ashigara, sensing this was his ship's final hour, went out as a hero.
Steaming directly into the enemy, the Ashigara took many of the shells fired from the British ships, allowing the transports to escape completely unharmed. Along with a couple destroyers, the Ashigara showed true Japanese fighting spirit, pounding the Dauntless and Capetown over and over with its 8 inch shells until all ammo was expended. Each light cruiser was also hit by a torpedo from the destroyer Yugumo. Those and the constant pounding from the large shells was more than either ship could take and they were both sunk. The Vendetta took a few penetrating hits from the smaller caliber weapons and escaped trailing smoke and down one turret.
Naval action east of Palembang.

Given its distance from Singapore, the Ashigara will likely sink, but it certainly performed well given its heavily damaged state going into the surface engagement.

Kates from Singapore also attempted to bomb the Royal Sovereign, but no hits were landed.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
In the South Pacific, US battleships made an appearance at both Canton Island and Upolu! In the nighttime, the battleship California and four destroyer escorts closed in to bombard the airfield. Coastal watchers reported seeing an explosion when the large ships struck a mine on its approach. Given the size of the ship, the mine certainly won't sink the ship, but hopefully it will take some time to repair the damage.
A rare mine hit on a capital ship.

A small convoy defended by nothing more than minesweepers managed to escape destruction, likely because the California was focused on hitting the island. A lack of recon seemed to help us, as the California's shells mostly missed the airfield, destroying only one Zero.
At Upolu, the battleship New Mexico and the light cruiser Honolulu arrived with escort. An ASW group on patrol crossed paths with the big ships and in two running engagements all of the ships were sunk except one gunboat. The New Mexico hit Upolu also, but there was not much there to damage.
An unlucky ASW group is sent to the bottom.

All the enemy ships managed to escape without being spotted during the day. Hopefully the next time a raid like this occurs, the light carrier group will be on station to catch these large ships with some aerial torpedoes.

At Noumea, the heavy bombers continued to take a heavy toll on the ships unloading at Koumac. Another transport was sunk and several damaged. The slow cruiser Kashima took several hits but is in decent shape. The DD Urakaze took a bomb also. The 38th is totally unloaded now, and in decent shape after its long trip from China. Several ships have been organized into groups to start heading home to Rabaul. The most damaged transports will travel together. Many troop transports are nearly empty of their supplies, so they should finish unloading in the night and be gone by morning. This will still leave a handful of troop ships as well as 8 cargo ships still unloading supplies. With luck they will survive a couple more days to get most of their supplies unloaded.
Allied bombers continue their attacks.

A half a dozen Liberators from Midway bombed Wake Island at night, injuring 4 soldiers there.

Lastly, the Airfield at Suva has completed the upgrades needed to store torpedoes for the Nells and Betty's based there.

Depends on which ones you mean. I've picked them up from various sources at Spooky's and Rogue's site. Fremen also for sure.

Nice parting salute by the Ashigara...

Indeed, it was a fun battle to watch. These British ships keep closing in, and then all of sudden the 8inch shells start landing on target over and over. It was the kind of turn that make me love this game. Bummer that she will likely sink, here's hoping for some lucky ship damage rolls next turn!

War Report 3/27/42
Much quieter in the DEI today. As expected the Ashigara sunk.
The AP Achou Maru also sunk near Palembang from damage sustain in the airstrike yesterday.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
US capital ships hung around Canton Island today. Even worse, the BB New Mexico was less than 100 miles off the coast of Canton Island in broad daylight and the Kates and Bettys at the airbase didn't spot them.
While the US ships were there, they managed to sink a couple empty transports and 2 barges. The Kamogawa Maru actually hit the California with its 3inch gun, but as can be expected, the damage was nil. The California against bombarded the island, destroying a handful of planes.

At Noumea, many ships have started heading home. As such there were 2 and 4 engined bombers flying all over the place looking for targes. Again they had many hits, including two cargo ships that had supplies on board. Approximately 1200 supplies were lost onboard those damaged ships.

The airfield at Koumac has been expanded enough to allow more ops there. Given the current volume of heavy bombers at Noumea, it probably isn't the best idea to fly in fighters just yet.

The Kamogawa Maru actually hit the California with its 3inch gun, but as can be expected, the damage was nil.

Tell me! I feel bad for poor Alex, they just won't let him have his way. As far as the S Pac goes, I have my carrier raiding force at Truk and it will soon be put together and will head for Tarawa in case those US heavy boats don't leave, also in case any Marines show up and need to be reminded they aren't supposed to attack until 1943.

War Report 3/28/42
Japanese aircraft from Rangoon and Mandalay attacked British troops west of Lashio. Singapore bombers hit Palembang. Also, some Blenheim IV's showed up over Sian and managed to destroy some Oscar's on the ground.

The big action today occured at Batavia, as a force of 35 Betty's and 32 Zero's attacked the British carrier force near the Dutch port. The Zeros faced off against a variety of British and Dutch fighters and dealt with them very effectively. The Betty's almost made it through the CAP unscathed. However, the British AA was very dense and only one hit was scored - a torpedo hit on the CVL Hermes. Still, with any luck the carrier will be out of action for a while.
Air to air combat over British carriers at Batavia.

Flak is dense................. but one fish gets through.

Near Tokyo, the enemy sub Drum attacked a barge with its 4" deck gun, sinking the small ship.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
Liberators from Midway contiue their nightly bombing of Wake Island with little effect.

LBA attacks from Noumea were less effective today, perhaps the bomber crews are starting to get tired since their missions are farther and farther from base. The attacks still hit several ships, just not as many as in the last couple days. In any case, a couple ships in the area sunk from damaged sustain in previous days. Supplies continue to be unloaded at Koumac.
Initial probing from ground forces at La Foa indicates the presence of the 2nd USMC Para Battalion. A full scale attack by the 56th Bde, 6th Res Tank Reg and a couple naval guard units has been order against the lone US unit. Once the Marines are pushed back, our troops will advance on to Noumea to capture the well developed facilities there.

War Report 3/29/42
The Blenheims at Sian were met by Oscars today who chased all the bombers away. Bombers hit Palembang. A push was launched against Tarakan and although very low on supplies, enemy fortifications were reduced, although the base has yet to be captured.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
At Noumea most of the undamaged transports are nearing the lower Solomons and thus are not as quickly spotted and attacked by the LBA at Noumea. Most of the ships hit today were already damaged. Due to that target selection, several ships were sunk while heading north away from Koumac. In all 7 transports sunk in that area today.
The SS Grayback also tried to hit a transport north of Koumac, but all the torpedoes missed their mark.

On New Caledonia itself, the USMC Paratroops were easily routed south to the main base of Noumea. Our well supplied troops have been ordered to continue moving south as fast as possible. The tank regiment has been ordered to hold its positions for a day or two so that it doesn't outpace the infantry and find itself under attack.

War Report 3/30/42
Oscar's defelcted the Blenheims at Sian again. Helens attacked the DD Express at Pontianak, manging to hit with one 250kg AP bomb. The resulting explosion seems to indicate the bomb penetrated to some ammo or fuel storage area.
The AA cruisers Ceres and Columbo, and the BB Royal Sovereign paid a night time visit to our troops at Palembang. Some revenge was had when Nells from Singapore attacked the next day and managed to put a torpedo into the side of the battleship.
The ground fighting at Tarakan continued to make progress, inflicting heavier Allied casaulties and gaining ground.
Also, some Zero's flew sweeps over Imphal and downed one Hurricane before the Allies disengaged.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
Several ships were hit again near Noumea. Just a bit of supplies remain to be unloaded and then the last two AK's will be leaving Koumac to attempt to make it home. 6 ships were lost in that area today.

Lae airfield completed a phase of its expansion and it will now be able to support approximately 150 aircraft.

War Report 3/31/42
March goes out on a couple high notes.
Sian airfield was expanded today, as the Oscars there continued to chase off British Blenheim IV bombers. Also in China a large airstrike against Kungchang was moderately successful, although several Sally bombers were lost to the AVG stationed there.
In an attempt to catch the British carrier Hermes before it could recover, a large Betty strike, escorted by Zeros, was launched at the port of Batavia. The Hermes was located in port and four large AP bombs all hit the Hermes, the first of which was reported to have sent up very large explosions. With luck the ship will surely sink soon.
Hermes is hit 4 times at Batavia port. Remember the Ashigara!

The assault at Tarakan continued to make steady progress, despite the lack of supplies present. The defenders positions are nearly untenable and the base should fall very soon.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
At Koumac several large US ships showed up and shelled the base from afar. Damage was not catastrophic, but now that there are capital ships in the area, all subs that had been further to the southwest will move closer in to the route between Koumac and Noumea port in case the ships begin regular runs. The BB Mississippi was the largest ship spotted. Thankfully, the last two transports had left early in the evening, just a few hours before the enemy ships arrived.
During the day, airstrikes from the LBA at Noumea was lighter than usual. Those last two AK were the hardest hit. One was sunk after taking many bomb hits, the other may make it home.

Near Buna, Wirraways attacked the barges shuttling troops from Gasmata to Dobodura, sinking one. Also, a couple AK's that had finished unloading at Lae and were heading back to Rabaul were attacked by Wirraways and Beauforts. The AK Nozima Maru took multiple torpedo hits and sunk rapidly. Thankfully it was empty when sunk.

Sub Ops:
Apparently wishing to be recognized in the March 42 stats, the RO-61, after spending several days evading the AVD Hulbert at Ndini, finally made a move and put two fish into the Hulbert, sinking it quickly. The RO-61 will return to Rabaul and reload torps, then come back south again.

Sorry for the delay, been busy but now have got back to it. Got a couple updates here and hopefully will have the monthly stats & map review in the next few days. Wife's out of town so I have a few days to get caught up with things!

War Report 4/1/42
April starts with the SS Pollack putting a torpedo into a loaded troops ship off the southern coast of Kagoshima. The ship did not sink, although some casaulties were taken.
There were several air attacks across Burma, China and Sumatra on Allied airbases and ground units. Notable strikes include an attack on Batavia that hit a troop ship in port. Also a large strike of 125 Sally bombers against Kungchang, escorted by 14 Oscars, ran into the AVG and took some casaulties, but still managed some moderate damage to the airfield, hitting a P-40E on the ground.
On the ground the in Burma, the 33rd and 55th Divisions, supported by the 1st Tank Regiment, charged across the river towards Lashio to clear out British and Chinese survivors from Mandalay. The survivors had been reinforced by two Chinese Divisions. The tired British and Chinese units retreated to Lashio, but the two new Chinese units remained in place and will take a bit longer to dislodge.
At Tarakan, the defenders finally gave out as the Japanese force present chased them out of the base with swords and bayonets. Most of the enemy units retreated to the southwest.
The valuable oil fields at Tarakan.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
At Koumac the US ships continued to pound the base, inflicting a fair amount of damage this time.
The mighty Mississippi, lead ship of the bombardment forces hitting Koumac.

Two more AK's north of Koumac were hit by the bombers from Noumea, one of which sunk and the other is likely to. The bombers dropped 1000lb bombs which did quite a bit of damaged to the cargo ships.
Farther north, a handful of squads landed south of Buna at Dobodura to secure the beach there. After dropping the troops, the barges returning to Gasmata were attacked by Wirraways, but no hits were received.
ASW forces at Upolu attempted to locate the SS Trigger but had little luck.

u]War Report 4/2/42
A bit quieter today. A moderate Betty strike against Palembang did some damage. Otherwise most airstrikes were ground support strikes, with several hitting the Chinese units between Lasio and Mandalay. Another strong push there was not able to push out the two Chinese Divisions.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
No airstrikes from Noumea today, probably the first time in at least three weeks that we have seen that. The 6th Armored Reserve outran the main forces approaching Noumea late yesterday and today the Allied units in the area launched a minor offensive, causing the Armored group to retreat. It did suffer some damage but inflicted a similar amount on the enemy. A couple days of rest at La Foa and they should be ready to head south again. To prevent a similar occurance, all units have been ordered to hold up until the 56th Brigade catched up. The 38th Division has been ordered to continue to march on its own pace as it will be able to withstand a counterattack on its own.

The upshot of the Armored overadvancement was that intel was gained on what units are at Noumea. See scoreboard below for details. It will not be an easy fight, but provided we have more supplies (currently around 50K) than the enemy, I think the battle can be won with some time. If we can manage to win the field, we should gain a nice prize of one entire USMC Division into our POW camps.

Stats... Not a lot of sub activity, although it is always nice to make it a month without losing any of my toys.

Quite a calm month for submarine warfare. How deplyed are your submarines?

Wow...cool sub stats. I especially liked the "assist" category. I have expected a category for "rebounds" too.

Cool strategic map too.

Y'all had better get something going in Java/Sumatra before it become steel encased.

Here and there.

More seriously though, a few are in various ports having damage repaired. Several Glen equipped subs are enroute to the southern Pacific (south of Pago Pago) to act as spotters for my raiding group. There are I think 6-8 subs active in the Bay of Bengal. Another 8-10 sitting around between Australia and Port Moresby. I have none in the DEI, and I've started pulling away from the West Coast US, as I think they will have better use in the south Pacific now that any convoys to Australia have a long way to go.

Also, the calm is because I'm not being overly aggresive. It is a long war, and I want to have plenty for spotting invasions, sinking cripples, and also for night air attacks one the Allied CAP becomes impenatrable.

I think Balikpapan will fall soon now that Tarakan has been taken care of. Palembang should fall soon also. As to Java and Timor though, I'm not sure what Alex has planned.

War Report 4/3/42
Several airstrikes today. Most of it ground attacks in China and Burma. A pair of large attacks was launched against the AVG elements based at Kungchang, shooting several of the P-40E's down. Bettys also hit Palembang again.
The Armor and Engineers at Balikpapan began dismantling the fortifications surrounding the base, as the 16th Division should arrive within the next day or two from Samarinda. Some Blenheim IVs showed up at Rangoon, and although they got through the light CAP present, they failed to score any hits.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
The bombers at Noumea began ground strikes against our advancing forces. They hit the largest formation and now know that the 38th Division is on its way to Noumea. Several men were wounded, but KIA's were next to none.

Zero's and Oscar's at Lae have been order to fly high altitude strike over Port Moresby to gain some combat experience, and hopefully down some Allied pilots.

Tarawa can now support torpedoes in our Betty and Nell bombers and Munda now has a working airstrip.

Sub Ops:
A Glen, based on a sub passing near Pearl Harbor while enroute to Kwajelein, spotted several ships at the island base. It will attempt to fly a more focused recon tomorrow to see what can be seen.

War Report 4/4/42
Many airstikes again across Burma and China.
Blenheim IV's again attacked Rangoon, with one of the enemy being shot down there. At Balikpapan, the armor and engineers present continued to advance against the enemy fortifications. The Battleships Hyuga, Yamashiro and Mutsu also provided some fire support at Balikpapan.
Swordfish and Martin's attacked the escorting surface ships at Palembang today. Although the ships put up a fair amount of flak, the Kongo took two torpedoes from the Stringbags. Damage is fair, but it will make it back to Singapore for repairs, provided it isn't hit again on the way.
In return, a large strike of Zero's and Betty's went in against the ports at Batavia. The enemy cAP was knocked about, but some Betty's were still set upon and turned away. The 35 or so that got through hit the ports, but failed to connect with any enemy vessels.
One bright spot near Palembang is that the SS KVIII was directly hit with a depth charge dropped by the DD Isonami.
Battlecruiser Kongo, hit by British aerial torpedos near Palembang.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
The 38th Div on the march to Noumea continued to get harassed by heavy bombers. They continue to advance at a fair pace in spite of these aerial assaults.

At Port Moresby, Oscar's and Zero's on high level sweeps met enemy Wirraways and Kittyhawks in a long combat. Many Wirraways were knocked out of the sky, but the Kittyhawks were no pushovers, with several Oscar's hit by them. Still, some Kittyhawks were shot down by both Oscars and the Zeros. Nells also attacked Lunga, inflicting light damage.

LB-30's attacked Wake in daylight today. The damage inflicted was negligible, but if these attacks continue a small group of fighters may need to be placed on the island.

Sub Ops:
Recon at Pearl turned up nothing major, although the CAP present over the base was quite light.

War Report 4/5/42
The Allies strike back in the DEI again today.
Lots of airstrike from the IJA all over China and Burma. Several I-16c and Blenheim IV's were torched on the ground by large scale Sally strikes. A large group of Nell's and Betty's hit Palembang.
Some Martin's attacked our surface ships at Palembang, but scored no hits. Also at Palembang, more troops and some supplies were unloaded to support the ground assault there.
The set back of the day occured southeast of Borneo. Although the ground troops at Balikpapan continued to neutralize the fortifications there, the navy scene was not so rosy. The British carrier Indomitable showed up and launched 18 Swordfish against the heavy ships at Samarinda. Mutsu and Hyuga took two torpedoes each. The damage is not fatal but the ships will be in the yards for some time to come. There are three Battleships that are out of action now. Thankfully they should be repaired by the time the Allied offensive is going full swing.
IJN Battleships are hit near Samarinda.

A counter attack was launched from Kendari and although the bombers and their escorts penetrated the CAP easily, no hits were landed on the British carrier.
Counterattack against Indomitable.

Feurer Krieg Area Report
Ground troops continue to move on Noumea.

Recon reports many large ships at Milne Bay. On the off chance that they Allies try to run carrier aircraft in to sink AP's heading to Rabaul, Nells, Bettys and Zeros from all over the South Pacific have been flown into Rabaul. Also, all ships in the port have been ordered to head to Truk to finish the rendezvous with the Taiyho and Zuiho, in case a port strike or bombardment occurs. If the Allied move on Rabaul, it will be empty except for the fair amount of LBA they will have to deal with. Also one small surface group has been left in place in order to slow down any bombardment attempts.

Also of note, are two seperate TF's spotted by patrol planes east of Midway that appear to be battleships groups heading to Midway. A Naval Gd unit is due to arrive at Wake tomorrow to strengthen the garrison there in case an Allied raid is being prepared.

Sub Ops:
Nothing to report today.

Wow. First sending lone cruisers to torch your convoys. Then he is sending lone CV into harms way, and put 4 torps to BBs without punishment. This guy definetely has big cojones. Who is he? Despite I am JFB, i think he earned a medal.
