I remember my happy surprise when, tima ago, I red your WWI Project. New recruit, I just get inform now you finaly gave up. I am not marketing or commercial, but is it really not interesting enought people ? The fact is there is nearly no game on this subjetc, even tables/paper ones are exceptionnals. So a fight made by specialist like Matrix ones :-) will suffer nearly no enemy in this special market. As small as it is, you will be alone. So you really gave it up ? Due to the particular tactic of this period, I think a major campagn game is necessary. Bataillon fight for a few meters gain has nearly no interest, in my way. but, to manage battles like Verdun, le Chemin des Dames, Ypres can be a very interesting challenge. Gruvan, dreaming may be. ------------------ New here

Unfortunately the whole thread about WW1 games seems to have been lost. Nice to hear you will be getting around to doing most periods at some time.

I remeber I Saw two project I never heard about again in a web site, thought it was yours as it was about SPII new version. To help, I remeber the second project was about american civil war, there were screen shot, and the other project wasfor an adaptation for SPII in WWI, but no screen shot and no details. May be it was just an idea and has never been anything more. May be that was when Matrix conclued it was not a payable project. I agree with you, this is not simple. The battle field is by itself verry difficult to imagine : more than 10 000 shell on a 1meter by one meter place, not easy to simulate. An other question is underground fight (Douaumont, Vaux for instance). But I still being surprised there is no games on this periode exept flight simulator's. Gruvan ------------------ New here

The SP site you saw was probably the one that was making amod of SP for WW1 - I don't think anything ever came of it. Some friend and myself have made a WW1 mod for Close Combat 3 - the site address is in my profile.
