on an unrelated topic...

lol

a cpl days ago

1 of my cats decided to jump ON TOP of my computer case, wher i had placed a lamp

he of course toppled the lamp, which had a glass shade

it of course fell on my desk and shattered on impact

a wile after that i got a piece of glass in my foot, which had to be removed by sum1 else since i couldnt reach it very easily much less see it

anyway'

i bought a can of compressed air for cleanimng

and im wondering

is a can of compressed air good for blowing glass fragments off a hard surface and onto the floor?

and does any1 have any good suggestions for the cleanup of this glass?

Best thing is a small brush like a foxtail. Compressed air will just send all those glass fragments flying everywhere.

nono the vacuum works great

its just that wen u vaccuum glass its really only good for bigger pieces

cuz u cant always see little pieces, and the littlew pieces r the 1s giving me the trouble

so i thot i could blow em or brush em off my desk and onto the carpet, wher theyd all get sucked up

i wanna brush my desk off onto the floor and then suk em all up

or i could disassemble it, take the pieces outside and aim a hose at it

but thatd prolly wreck it lol

i really hate glass sumtimes

ther shouldnt even b glass anymore

lexan plastic should replace all glass and glass like substances

Vacuuming would work but don't use compressed air whatever you do. . I had to look up my dictionary to see if vacuum had 2 "c's" or 2 "u's"

put glasses or safety googles on if you are gouing to be blowing glass around. try some gloves and then a handful of wet paper towels.

My cat frequently jumps from the window sill onto my mini tower on her way to the floor. Several times she has managed to knock ram chips and other things loose on the motherboard.

If you think animals are a hazzard to you computer just wait until you have a 3 year old in the house!

Oh yeah, when my daughter was 2 or 3, she climbed on top of my computer desk just to get to a jar of cookies

First of all is the hard surface your foot or the case?

Secondly Marky you might want to preface your post OT so as we know that the post is not witp related but you just going off on one in your charming style

no flame here -

If time is not an issue, you might even try making a band of duct tape and "patting" the area for clean up....
(Red Green would probably try this first)..

thanx m10bob

good idea

ill use that in conjunction with a good wipe down and sum spraying

time is not in any way an issue as long as i get all the glass in the garbage wher it belongs

i hate glass

idc how long it takes as long as its in the garbage

hmm

perhaps i shoud drop a cpl 500 pounders on it...

or a nuke

that would take care iof it

in classically overkill fashion

o

the trinity test in NM turned the sand to glass for a radius out to about 800 yards or so

from the heat of course

thats how america mass produces GREEN glass...

get it? GREEN glass?

(glowing green)

ehh...

u guys do better!

Instead of a fox tail brush, I'd use the cat. Just grab her by the scruff of the neck and wipe the area clean of the glass that it br..<sound of loud slap to back of head>............ouch! I'm sorry honey. I am not advocating using the cat as a broom. Honest!

You could. of course, try the simple method first, put down a towel turn the keyboard upside down over the towel and either shake it or tap the bottom to knock any glass loose. Pick up the towel and dump the glass into the trash or vacumn it off the towel.

You are ignoring the obvious strategy. Take your shoes off and climb up on the desk yourself. When you feel a stabbing pain, you have likely found one. They generally will adhere well to your foot, but those that back out will leave a nice littel identifying red spot.

Glass splinters in your feet actually cause a surprising amount of bleeding. Especially if they go into your heel...

Why are you talking about cleaning? Isn't there a woman (wife/mother/girlfriend/maid) that can do this for you? Better yet, wife and/or girlfriend in a maid's outfit?

While she is at it have her bring you a drink and a snack. This could be a long turn.

You have more important things to do like play WiTP!

Feign incompetence and she will eventually do it for you. This has worked for me.
