Digital Download and On-Demand CD of the RTS Sci-Fi Masterpiece

Matrix Games is pleased to release I of the Enemy (www.enemytechnology.com), a real-time strategy game that takes place in the distant future. Designed and coded by military officers, I of the Enemy emphasizes a strong story and a sense of small unit rather than resource gathering. It is now available from the Matrix Games website for US $19.99 as a digital download and a game box option will be available later this week.

The peaceful Lokob system of planets is being invaded by a mysterious enemy named the Unath. Forced into a shaky alliance with other, more powerful races in their sector, the Lokob become third class citizens while their armies are put to use. Will this alliance be strong enough to drive off the invaders? If it does, will the Lokob ever gain true freedom? Or is there someone else pulling the strings in this galactic game of cat and mouse…

With voice acting from Ian McNeice, famed for his role as Baron Harkonnen in Dune, and a story that will keep you up all night, I of the Enemy is a sci-fi and campaign story fan’s dream come true. Resources are delivered automatically to your base’s gate via regular intervals, leaving you free to control your soldiers on more tactical maneuvers. As your soldiers fight they gain experience. Those that gain enough can gain levels and join you on future missions. Tactics become increasingly important when your enemy begins bringing long range artillery, air units, and heavy infantry. Stay light, stay mobile, and you just may survive long enough to return to your home world.

The advanced, but in this case inexperienced, Y'dray forces... you can see the shield flares on their targets.

An example of a transport point that allows supplies and reinforcements to arrive on the battlefield. You can set supplies to automatically be brought in on a regular basis or you can decide the reinforcement queue from those forces available. Often, your reinforcements are limited to a finite number and you must use them wisely.

An example of an elite leader unit, Colonel Verkkal of the Lokob, in the first scenario of the campaign.

An example of one of the many briefings before scenarios that set the scene and continue the campaign's storyline. These are complete with character animations and some excellent voice acting (including Ian McNiece, Baron Harkonnen in Dune, playing Colonel Verkkal).

enemytechnology website say "freeware" and "100%" free game.. you talking about demo. What is it in fact?

I cannot find Custom game nor Map Editor, that is mentioned in the manual, and in multiplayer mode there is a 2 player mode only? If it is only in the full game, this is just a restirected demo, which is far from "freeware"...

"I of the Enemy: Ril'Cerat" is the free demo for the main game, it just covers a different part of the story. It's a gameplay demo and does not include all the features of the main game. The full I of the Enemy game is not freeware.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanx, now I see.
Are there any other buildings in the full game (like StarCraft) or just those warp points, similar than dropzones in Ground Control?

Somebody said to me, that this game is similar than my favorite RTS
/ StarCraft:) /... but while i had playing this demo i had a Ground Control feeling instead.

Sorry for the late response on this. I need to come out of my coding cave once in awhile!

Anyway, yes, the game is similar to StarCraft, but we have de-emphasized the the resource gathering for the most part. As for the ground control feel, I'm not sure about that. The intent was to give a remote battle management feel, but I'm afraid I can't say how well we were able to do that.

Thanks!

If it is a "masterpiece" then why I have I never seen anyone ever even mention it on Usenet or any gaming forum?
