Couple Semi-Newbie Questions - 8/18/2005 4:15:08 AM

I have a couple questions.

First, as Sweden, I declared war on Denmark. I sieged Zealand and took it after some time. After that, Britain became the protectorate of Denmark, and thus I was forced to fight Britain. Britain surrendered before I could take over any more Danish provinces, so I forced Briatin to liberate Norway and Denmark (minus Zealand which was mine).

The problem is, when I declared war on Denmark again, the war lasted only 1 month, after which there was peace again. However, I could make Denmark a protectorate. . . I tried declaring war on Denmark several times, but the war always ended.

So the question is, is this a bug, caused by me taking Zealand (the capital) before the other provinces? Or am I doing something wrong? Protectorates are fins, but Sweden gets additional glory from controlling Norway.

Finally, my last question. I read in the manual that cavalry charge effectiveness is dependant on if the cavalry unit used any of its moves before the charge. So is charging a unit after forming a line worse than charging in a column formation with no movement beforehand?

Thx for any answers, and thanks Matrix for an addicting game :-)

Hi arnoldyim! Welcome to the forum,

The multi province minors are bugged, so yes sometimes they do keep reverting to peace. It is well known, and is scheduled to be fixed in the next patch IIRC.

As far as your cav question goes, I have never tried to see if there is a difference, but I am sure others will have done!

Ian

Roger

we said it was not all fixed, that there were some areas still giving some trouble, but thought the breaking of a current war was fixed

Just wanted to say thanks for all the answers :-) I have 1 more question, so I'll just tack it on here instead of starting another thread.

1. My only Swedish army had an average morale of around 4.5(I think) in the beginning of the game. My draft pool morale is 5.20. The army has been supplied at nearly all times, and have won alot more battles than they lost. My national glory has steadily risen to 1000, and my glory has risen too. 3 years later, I am fighting Russia, and sieging provinces. I look at my army, and the average morale has dropped to under 3.00. Why is that? The draft pool has a higher morale, the army has been constantly supplied, they won more than they lost, I didn't lose any generals, etc. . . I don't get it. I understand that if the army morale was above 5.2 it would come down as reinforcements came in, but being below 5.2 shouldn't the reinforcements raise morale?

Hi, I alway form a line when I can and it appears that I do much more damage then if I stayed in column. However, I have not tested it.
