My short-legged sub chasers are going to investigate reports of IJN sub activity near Hiaphong. A refueling stop has been scheduled for the return trip to Hong Kong

I hate contested landings. Phase 3 (Hong Kong) begins early. I need it to fall before the RN arrives.

Nah, we looked at the timetable. It says - wait 3 months for a foreign navy and then 2 show up at once.

More aircraft arriving shortly. They'll need lots of training to reach combat effective status, but should be ready for the offensives to drive Japan back. It's too bad they aren't ready now. I'd send them to China.

The first part of the game after the initial fights is a slow buildup for the Allied player (as if you haven't guessed)... you get plenty of time to decide what to do, but constantly revise that in the face of Japanese moves. I'm still reacting. The American fleet is ready to move West, but I have no support forces (base forces) to take along and I don't think I am ready to retake Wake... if I go that route, or have the forces to support a more southerly circle through the Marianas. I've got political points stored, so I'll be moving some of the extra base forces from the West Coast to create my supply bases. Q-ships should be arriving shortly too. Looking forward to many more of those.

Sorry about the hold up. Sean is away on business and my father-in-law is very ill. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

The Battle for Soochow begins with Japanese bombardments. Troop numbers are close, but quality wise I am in trouble.

Knocked the fancy spoons of the shelf did we?

Not much is new this turn. My troops forced back into Manila from the south; relatively quiet apart from damaged IJN shipping (I think from the recent landings in China) sinking
