I'm overwhelmed by this thing. Last night, instead of the WitP all-nighter, I caught myself browsing the Earth till the morning.
Sattelite photos pasted onto 3D model of the Earth, with amazing detail.

Anybody found a Chinese Great Wall? I am lost in sheer land mass of northern China.

Download NASA's WorldWind program...you'll be addicted then.

P.S. it marks landmarks for you.

Hmmmmm, the FBI showed up at my house today asking about some Matrix gamer codenamed "Marky" that had a thermometer placed in his computer case and on top of that using "google world" to check out US bases.I covered for ya Marky and played dumb, which is almost a natural state for me!

Hey Marky,

In that Bond movie, Sean Connery's original response was "but of course you are" but the film makers thought it was too risque...lol

Google Earth pictures are mostly 3 years old.. My building is still a big hole on it as it was built in the two last years.

And yes I was rather deceived to not find the great wall but China is poorly covered... A friend of mine told me that detailed pics available in really detailled area are not made from staellite but from aircraft. Chinese probably shoot first aircraft travelling into their airspace for taking pictures and asked questions after...

Seeing this shot reminded me of why I had to laugh when my opponant bombarded Palembang in one of our games. I had 450 mines placed in the hex, and he didn't so much as hit one while beating up the garrison and the airfield with his cruisers and DD's. Yea..., right!
