Howdy, just picked up the game yesterday. Looking forward to some PBEM gaming here. This is my first Napoleonic game however I've been a wargamer for a long, long time. Over the next week or so I'm going to play around with the system, read posts, and generally learn as much as I can about the game. Just wanted to post a heads up with enough lead time to get a group together.

I spent 4 hours in CoG last night and had a blast :)

okay, give me a few days to play this game against the AI and by this weekend hopefully we'll have enough players (new players only, please) for a good game. This is my second evening with the game and so far really loving it.

PS: V.V., I also just picked up WITP last week but alas, I can only handle one game of this depth at a time :)

Hello All,
Please consider me for your game. I have had the game a little while too and would like to play against humans.

I've added you to the list CCBasin.

EVERYBODY: Y'all can delete your email addys if it would make you feel more comfortable as I have them recorded.

We can still accept more players. We'll make final arrangements up here this weekend. I will send out confirmation emails to all players on Sunday in order to verify the addys.

I'm getting really busy this weekend. Had some unexpected guests. If you all want to start up something today without me then that is fine. Sorry, I'm bummed, but hey...can't beat good family. Hopefully my schedule will clear up early in the week.

I Prefer Prussia.

I have not played a pbem before. Is 3 not enough people? Should would we set a date to start playing? BossGnome it looks like you have the most experiance in this group. Will you continue to lead this operation?

I have never played a PBEM of this game before, but from the general opinion on the forums I have heard that is it better to play with either full house, or at least 7 people, mostly because computer allies are rather incompetent, allowing a good french or british player near-freedom to pick on smaller players like austria or spain... personally i would like it if we could reach at least 5, leaving two of the minor powers (turkey, sweden or spain) as computer controlled.

IF you haven't started yet, I would like to be RUSSIA.
I just got this game earlier this week, and am just getting the hang of things in single player. I wouldn't mind learning more against humans though.
If russia has been taken, I don't mind taking anything else that is free.

One more thing, I will be out of town Sep. 22-24, I'm not sure if that will inconvenience the game or not. How long will a PBEM game take anyway? A week, two?

e-mail me if i'm in...

It looks like we are getting a good group together, but this would be even better if we didn't have an AI controlling the strongest navy in the world.
Anyone out there willing to step into the boots of Lord Nelson?

strongest navy in the world? pfah! You wait and see what I do with the french Navy, and soon britain will be nothing but another french protectorate...

by the way should we wait a few more days? the game is scheduled to start for tomorrow (19th). Give it another day or 2?

Hey guys if you still need someone I'll join. Don't care what nation I play because I'll probably run it into the ground.

then shall we start it tomorrow (20th) then? I am a little unsure of our friend Ccbasin there as he has failed to post for quite a while. So if Ccbasin, wherever he is, does not post by tomorrow he is considered out. Ok?

So far :

France: Boss Gnome
England: Peever
Spain: Matzo
Austria: (Ccbasin?)
Russia: Archinerd
Turkey: Gabriel Rodriguez
Sweden and Prussia Computer controlled.

This is it so far, there is still room, AS LONG AS YOU POST BEFORE THE 20TH OF SEPTEMBER YOU ARE IN. I will start the game and then hand it to everyone on the 20th. Ccbasin please post I'd hate to have austria as a computer...
