The Osaka raid was so much fun, I thought I would try Tokyo:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Naval bombardment of Tokyo, at 66,43

Japanese aircraft
no flights

Japanese aircraft losses
J2M Jack: 6 destroyed
Ki-54 Hickory: 4 destroyed
L2D2 Tabby: 8 destroyed
Ki-51 Sonia: 2 destroyed
H8K Emily: 2 destroyed
MC-21 Sally: 1 destroyed
B5N Kate: 1 destroyed
E13A1 Jake: 1 destroyed
G4M2 Betty: 1 destroyed

Japanese Ships
CVE Kaiyo, Shell hits 5, on fire, heavy damage
CVE Unyo, Shell hits 13, on fire, heavy damage
CVE Shinyo, Shell hits 8, on fire, heavy damage
CVE Chuyo, Shell hits 10, on fire, heavy damage
CL Noshiro, Shell hits 2, on fire
CA Haguro, Shell hits 2, on fire
CL Oyodo, Shell hits 1, on fire
CA Kako, Shell hits 1

Allied Ships
CA Boston
CA Wichita
CA Vincennes
CA Quincy
CA San Francisco
CA Astoria
CA Chester
CA Northampton
BB Alabama
BB Massachusetts
BB Indiana
BB South Dakota
BB North Carolina
BB Mississippi
BB New Mexico
BB Idaho
BB Tennessee
BB California
BB Pennsylvania
BB Arizona
BB Oklahoma
BB Nevada
BB West Virginia
BB Colorado
BB Maryland

Japanese ground losses:
221863 casualties reported
Guns lost 985

Airbase hits 77
Airbase supply hits 3
Runway hits 395
Port hits 4

Some background:
It is the shank of the war vs. the AI -- Jan '44. The CVEs are sitting in port awaiting, I think, planes that will never be built. The planes destroyed on field represent the bulk
of remaining Japanese airpower. The attacking TF was commanded by Tisdale.

If you play the AI, those CVE's will sit in Tokyo for the duration.

I gave all japanese CVE's their own air groups in my game vs AI (I'm allies). The AI uses them if they have planes. Just copy Hosho's airgroups.

You can only have 25 ships in a BB TF and the other 8 slots had CA

Terrible limit i suggest 500 ( like d-day) What harm could it do? ( Everything stays in port until late 43 and then goes out for a bite!!)

This thread is just more evidence for the fact that so many of us know the ins and outs of the program we are picking it to bits at will. Let alone most of us have got a good 18 months joy out of it without even going to PBEM!!. I was just taking the mick...

Got so used to just playing this game I just can't think of another game to go somewhere else!!

Mind you.. did play a bit of BTR and a turn or two of BOB earlier - just to remind myself of where this beast came from (Fonts and font size are the same - lol - why the hell didn't they change that? Got enough grief when BOB/BTR came out!!)
