Anyone playing any cool games recently? I am currently working on silent hill 4! I also want to get sly 3 I have been a big collector of both series!

Hmmm.... "cool"... you don't hear that term used that much around here...

How about HPS Shiloh Campaign? Playing the campaign game in split personality mode, the honorable US Grant has failed to take Fort Donelson (with disastrous losses) and is now defending Frankfort, KY against a southern invasion.

It's too bad that the AI isn't really up to providing a decent fight in campaign mode, but Tiller's "campaign" design is brilliant. Campaign Gettysburg is also fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting The Penninsula Campaign next.

Maybe we should simply bann the phrase "sly 3".

Stop this spamming. We can also bann IPs, pretty easy.

"Cool" games indeed. Well, Gettysburg and Peninsular are anyway, I don't have Shiloh yet. As you say, a shame about the AI - just about everything else is perfect (as long as you avoid the 3D views anyway!)

Other "cool" games for me at present are Falklands War 1982 (looking forward to the new Prosim Arab/Israeli game; have that pre-ordered) and Dangerous Waters.

BTW, Sly should be his moniker ... he's a little crafty monkey.

I've no idea what Silent Hill 4 or Sly 3 are: in fact I've never even heard of them. I have a suspicion that they wouldn't interest me, or most others who come here. Or am I missing some "cool games"?

If SH4 is what I think it is, if you like things that go bump in the dark, namely zombies who want to eat your brains or some other extremities of your body you might like SH4.

I played one of these types years ago on my amiga and it literally scared the pee out of me in some areas, when you are sneaking up on one of them and one comes charging out of a closet that was hidden in the dark shadows it has that effect. lol I like to play these types in the dark. Doomlike games don't have the appeal that these do. Since I grew up with "Night of the Living Dead", "Dawn of the Dead" (my favorite), "Day of the Dead" and a few others, these types have some appeal as FPSers to me. ;) And those sounds they make, the atmosphere of them is more believeable than doomlike games.

Since we're on the subject of cool creepy undead games. I did play one recently. Vampire Bloodlines. Most delightful, and the best in 3DRP Kotor style type o' game category IMO.

Can't argue with that. Seems like these are console only games: that's why I haven't even heard of them.

How about a list of "games for a change" that are available in PC versions?

Clive Barkers Undying was pretty good, had those jump out at you sequences and those faces in the mirrors, man, scary as heck.
