July 3rd. Not much action so here are a couple of maps
First the Banda Sea situation.
I did not realize the major difference that the lack of railroad to Darwin made, so I withdrew troops and submarines to Darwin. Big mistake. As the enemy approached the Banda sea, I run out of fuel (and supplies) so I had a passel of subs at Darwin, with no go juice to get them to sortie. Hmmm I guess that's why the subs were based at Freemantle and Brisbane IRL. The only positive thing about this is that now it is not so important to defend Darwin. If the Japs want to come and take it, fine, they ain't going anywhere from there.....

Happy 4th of July
Chinese forces cross the river near Lashio, and have to do a shock attack, but withstand it. This is an effort to reopen the Burma road. If the Burma road is closed at Lashio: Will the Japs press on to Mytkivina? Questions, Questions......

Man! It's pretty wild how our respective games have taken a different course. Pedro, you are one aggressive Allied player! Going to be tough holding off Bill without those CVs though. LBA is going to have to shoulder the burden. Maybe your subs can whittle down the Jap CVs too. How's Akagi doing?

Wish I knew.....
Actually, The big E and Wasp are still around, that is better than my game with Warspite, where I managed to lose them all!

It is refit time for the main Japanese carriers. You will see the Akagi shortly.

I wish they did not have to go throught the refit but have to do what I have to do. I do believe in both games I still have all of the Japanses carriers. None have been lost so far in combat in either game.

My bombers have to be in range or "willing" to launch for that to have changed. Soon......soon (rubbing palms together and slobbering...).

July 16th 42.
More of the same everywhere.
Allied lines are firming up in Burma, along the Imphal/Kohima/Ledo line. In the South Pacific the Islands and Bases of Noume, Suva and Pago Pago have been finally garrisoned with division size forces or better, with large additional troop and supplies arriving rapidly.
The Japanese may still advance in the center of the front, namely Timor and the Suva sea, but forces are in place to defend Australia.
It is now time to begin the reconquest...
