thank for advices Amiral... im pretty reluctant to turn Australia into battlefield for the reasons you mentioned. So i have to agree with you - offensive raid (combined hit (from air, sea and invasion) and run mission is probably best solution for me.

One is for sure: for any kind of invasion on the Australian ground (or India) i need to finish the job in SRA pretty quickly. But i don't want lose my air and naval striking forces, so i have to find balanced approach bettwen time and acceptable losses (I'm genius, right?)

IMO, one of the key factor will be Koepang... here is current situation in DEI:

Menado inv group will be used for Koepang, while South sea detachment is going to occupy Kendari. I have to be fast, but cautious (another smart move by me), don't want to find light inv force faced with Z force or combined allied fleet.... so far, Andy uses even dutch subs for evacuating, but you never know....

When Mike hit Perth in our game he landed 1 division, 1 engineer regiment - and later 1-2 tank regiments.
This force was supported by a heavy cruiser TF that bombardet Perth several times. The forts were only reduced once, to lvl 6
and a 1-1 odds was achieved before he decided to retreat.

So I would say that 2 divisions, 2 engineer regiments and 2 tank regiments would be sufficient.
A full division + engineers would be sufficient as a garrison - and it is possible that even such a modest force could tie up
a large number of Allied troops for quite a while and open up numerous possibilities.

So there would be both a tactical and strategic value to capturing Perth...especially if you want to land other places in Oz and perhaps
New Caledonia.

But I agree with you Pauk, finish your business in the DEI and on the PIs and then decide where to go next.
Territory shouldn't be a goal in itself, it's the destruction of Allied war materiel and the reduction of their ability to wage war that
should be your main objective.

I like the strategic talk from the crusty veterans. Good food for the brain and very interesting. Pauk, do it man! Smack down Perth so we can enjoy the carnage too. You got the goods dude.

I'd follow Admiral on this. The raiding option is the way to go for Japan. You need to mantain a certain degree of Flexibility with your crack divisions. Garrisoning Perth and western Oz will mean expose your eastern flank to an earlier US pacific advance. Better to go there, distrupt everything and then go back, keeping a strong mighty force at your disposal for every possible scenario that may arise.
Same goes for Pacific. If you see that your opponent is massing his troops somewhere ( Canton Island...Palmyra or whatever)....go there with 4 divisions, take all those yankees as POWs and then go back, leaving there a small garrison just to be sure.
it worked well in my game with MC...i manage to wipe out of the war 2 entire us divisions and some 3 regiments/Bdes

Not so eventful turn, but i've decide to post screen because i accidentaly, just before i've ended turn, saw allied naval force. My air search did not reported it, so Andy probably thinks he is unspoted. Of course, it could be something else (transport fleet) but i don't believe... too many ships together....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/12/41

Another MSW and couple of enemy transports were sunk. My I-force have a good turn - 5 succesful attacks.

Manila and Clark Field were attacked and Emperor can be pleased with results: 25 enemy planes destroyed on the ground. Allies lost 39 planes while i lost 7 planes (4 of them were ops loses).

Andy lost 12 ac in A2A during opposing Kuching invasion (shock attack ordered for tomorrow). My samurai's did it well, but when i saw that two T-IV got trough CAP and attacked Hyuga my heart start pumping faster. These crappy planes can be really nasty. I'm well known as most unfortunate player, but this time no reason to cheer for Andy....

Back to the Philippines. Andy reinforced Naga with one tank unit and two base forces. I've ordered deliberate attack (two divisions+SNLF+naval guard+eng rtg). Lets hope that i will get 2-1 odds because i have only one division preparing for Naga.... If i can take Naga in next two days, bulk of Philipine group army will enjoy Christmas eve in Manila... oh, wait...

Kido Butai is now located NNE of PH. Subs spoted one ship. Andy probably reconing area looking for my KB. I've ordered KB to move further (north). Don't want to see 140 Kates attacking single AP....heh...

81nd and 91nd naval guards embarking on ships together with BF for Brunei invasion. Fuel transport fleet (58.000) protected with 6 DD's heading for Jolo. Lot's of fuel and supply transports going to Palau. I don't want to found myself without fuel and supply for upcoming operations

Pauk dude...

Landing at Kuching always guarantees the IJN a bloody nose from the coastal guns doesn't it? The cost in damaged ships and damaged & disrupted infantry seems very high. Is there any alternative to just sailing up and taking your your kick to the nads like a man? Like how about a bomber raid on the port? I guess that would involve long range naval bombers which are too valuable to use on land targets? Would a heavy duty preparatory bombardment from a BB/CA TF be worth it or just get bigger ships damaged? Please advise.

Sorry if I missed something earlier in this AAR but what kind of fighters do you have on the baby KB north of Borneo? You seem to have zeros in your combat reports with no claudes so did you upgrade the claudes on your CVs in Japan and Paulu before departing? Seems unlikely cause they need time to repair after the upgrade. I need advice for Japan so I don't make another big sticky mess like last time.

You are learning fast. BB bombardment is welcomed if you don't need AF imediately. But i need Kuching AF operational when i capture it. That's why i don't bomb bases at the begining of the game (i will bombard Batavia but Kuching is extreme valuable base for Japan at the start of the game (air threat to Palembang, Batavia and Soerbaja and surrounding waters). So i would rather have some disrupted squads (i can rest them in malaria free bases) and couple of small AP sunk - have plenty of them) then un-operational AF (allies can use B-17 to keep this AF closed for longer because i don't have nearby AF for LR CAP over Kuching).
I've had situations that obsolete swordfish's and T-IV put torpedo in my BB's so i don't want to risk them if it not neccesary + i've lost contact with enemy fleet which was located on the east shore of Borneo.

For now, it seems that Andy playing Sir Robin defence, but he can suprise me and kick my $ss. If he continue to flee from PI, DEI, there is nothing much i can do it about. I can not catch him, so there is no reason to risk.

KB - i've upgraded Claudes to Zero on turn 1. Then i waited two or three turns for repairing damaged zeros. Then i've send baby KB to the south. No need for waiting until all Zero become operational, allied players don't have long range fighters at the start of a game. Now mini KB is fully operational, as we can see

MORE:

Always put at least one CL and couple of DD's in your invasion fleet - it will reduce effect of enemy fire during invasion.

- BB's and CA will not suffer any damage on bombing mission - only the bigger guns can damage CA's and BB's and they are (guns) located in Singapore, Manila, Batan, PH....

Gen Hoepp, couldn't agree more about exposed eastern flank in the Pacific during Perth campaign. I'm assume that Andy will be catiuos with his carriers, so i certainly can live with one or two raids on Marshalls while i executing (for now imaginary) east Austrailia operation. But, on the other side, what if I can trapped Andy and destroy his carriers. It could be done in this way. One or two unimportant landings in Pacific without (visible) air support from KB and after that going for Canton? I have feeling that Andy would react, but can't play expecting something like this.... I guess i have "classic" IJN officers character - i'm coveting (?hope) "decisive battle" but i'm wobbler at the same time

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/13/41

ok, back to job...Not so eventful turn but pretty interesting..

DEI

Some of my AP's at Kuching suffered heavy damage from the mines and coastal guns, but nothing serious. 35bde with support unit (SBF) easily kicked out Dutch soliders form base. I've moved one recon and one mavis chutai into Kuching and Oscar daitai.

My brave marines unloading at Tawi tawi and Menado. Strong PT flotilla (10 pt reported) approaching Menado waters so i've formed SC TF (5 PC/PG) from escort for protection. Also i want to see if these aux ships can fight against PTs.

"Aux carier force" again scored plenty of hits on enemy AKs and TKs. To be honest, not so many transports from PI survived...heh...

Unfortunatly, i've lost contact with enemy fleet but suprisingly i've found three enemy DD's in Kuching wathers during day phases. Kates from baby KB attacked AK's (!?) but forutnatly Betty's from Kuching caught them. So far I can't count on LBA from Saigon - due the bad weather they did not attacked yet! Baby KB heading for Saigon (refuel&rest)and after that will support Tarakan invasion...

Allies launched several strikes from Singapore, but with no results. Mutsu was hit with two bombs - klonk, klonk.... 7 enemy planes lost due to AA fire.

PHILIPPINES

Manila and CF again raided!(7 destroyed ac on ground) No significant resistance over these bases and two zero daitais transfered to the Camrah Bay. With upgrading F2 Yamada daitai soon i will have 4 zero daitais for Malaya.

Well i got 1-1 odds at the Naga, but fort is coming down. Tomorrow will arrive additional force and then we will get through Naga with brutal force... I'm interested where will Andy make last stand: Manila is not going to be fortified more than level one (and 4 div approaching M.), so i would choose CF....

Hi pauk, thanks for the lesson so far. I didn't know Kuching had an airbase so not bombarding makes sense now. About the claude upgrades on the CVEs at game start, leaving them in Japan & Paulu for several turns to repair some of the new Zeros misses the big 20 move bonus on Dec 7 so is it possible to move the CVE's to another port closer to the SRA like in Taiwan or Saigon if reachable and then do the upgrade and refit period? That would reduce the time to get there later by using the bonus move, no? I'm probably making a mistake of some sort here.

How do you use paratroopers at the start? You dropped them on the Philippines like in Legusi (spelling?) and Aparri which was nicely done but I didn't know the air transports can reach that far. I've never used paratroopers so I don't know. How do you get them to shock attack on the same turn?

I notice in AARs that Wake Island can also be taken by shock attack on the first turn. Is that done with the default troop transports already set up to go there? (I do know about sending the 'Guam' cruiser force to bombard Wake but that's all). In my game now which is my first ever, some ships landed soldiers on Wake without my orders and they all starved and were bombarded to death.

About the AV's and jakes/petes. How do you get the Jakes and Petes to load onto the AVs at gamestart before moving to a combat area? I heard for CV's you have to like use a transport and put the planes on them and then ship them to the CVs I think so do AV's work the same way? Do they have to be in port to do this? Can they get the bonus move with the seaplanes on board?

Hehe, that's a lot of questions. I'll have to start paying tuition soon.

Yes, that's lot of questions. Maybe we could start new thread in the main forum section.

1. I send CVLs to the Camrah (you can send them to the Saigon too) on the first turn. There i've upgrade them on turn 2.

2. paras: didn't know that too before. It seems that you can drop them futher than max range; same goes for transporting LCU units from base x to base y. Paras always shock attacked when they dropped.

3. If you using Guam bomb. TF Wake will always fall on turn one. I'm using historical troops for Wake (no additional force)

4. AV's have their own float planes (at least those you have at the start). They are working like CS (carrier for float planes)

of course, the best way to learn mechanics and lawa of the WiTP is own-making tests. hope this helps

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/14/41

As I expected, Singapore became base for B-17s, they attacked Kuching. Also, bombers from Sinkawang attacked my ships nearby Kuching & Kuching AF. Weather is now allied ally (tunderstorms in Saigon... partly cloudly in the Singapore). After long discusing, imperial HQ decide not sending Zero's to Kuching for two reasons... AF is at 42 damage (yesterday was 44) and Zeros will be fatigued (above 20). Besides that, imp HQ still believe that our air forces can suprise american mercenaries (AVG) at Singapore. We have to be patient, Ish-proc-go is based on cautious advancing and sudden tsunami strike from the air. This will be possible when Georgetown falls to the japan hands.

Two divisions (Imp G and 5th + eng rtg) ordered for shock attack on Georgetown. Hope that Sallys will fly from Bankog and Kompong thach and help our brave army.

Two naval battles happend in Menado. Andy probably hoped for better results.

Philippines were quiet - Legaspi and Aparri airfields were closed down (bad weather) but Manila and CF AFs are still damaged. I'm going to break trough tommorow at Naga.

CHINA: is seems that Andy took good things from String. He using Singapore as air base for B17s, and he start to move some troops from Homan towards Hsyiang (sp?) and Kaifeng. We will se if it is only feint....

COMBAT HIGHLIGHTS

hm, I guess Andy sending lonely "recon" ships to check if sea route form PH to San Francisco is clear. I have to be patient here and wait when my glen equiped subs report capital ships passing.

EDIT: noticed strange thing and don't know if it is by design or...? I have 2 div at Alor Star (enemy control); recently i have sent additional troops to Alor Star from Songhia but they did not come in Alor hex - they have stay in Songhia hex although distance is shown 60/60?

Maybe those troops must move one more meter to arrive so next turn they should rock up to Aloe Star. Perhaps one of them forgot his lunchbox or something so they had to wait up for him.

pauk, thanks for answering the questions. Each answer you provide helps me avoid another dehibilitating blunder. I suppose I could practice against the AI but its extremely time consuming as I tried it once and it took like over an hour or two for one turn I think without me doing many moves. My computer is even slower than my brain. My brain moves like molasses in Antartica while my computer is like a ruptured turtle covered in liquid nitrogen.

I will try to limit my questions to story events. Okay then, I'm thinking that you can launch some big air raids against Singapore once the weather clears to try and catch some of his hardware on the tarmac. You might take out some of those dangerous B-17s like that. What do you think?

I like all those little naval fights. They are fun. Thanks for the frequent AAR updates. I ran out of reading material when the lunacies dried up so this is good.

no problem:)

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/15/41

Strong enemy fleet (10 ships) is located at Palembang. I've ordered LBA to naval attack and Zero for escort, but bad weather still prevents my missions. That's why i moved reinforcements (base force+construction btn+supplies) from Kuching port. I will not risk sinking of T TF during day phase. I've ordered baby KB and slow BB fleet to move towards Kuching, although i need this forces for south DEI operation (Amboina, Kendari).

Enemy PTs (from Manila) strike at Kuching and sank one AK (supplies). Kuatan bombed with Kongo BB TF (few Hudsons destroyed, 320 casaulties).

Andy continue to attack Kuching with B17, but the good news is fall of the Alor Star (Andy did not want to fight there - good, this place had lvl 5 fort). 3 AK's sent with supply to the Khota Baru - i need to disperse enemy bombers with attracting their attention to many places.

Day Air attack on Kuching , at 28,56

Japanese aircraft
no flights

Allied aircraft
B-17C Fortress x 9
B-17E Fortress x 47

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-43-Ib Oscar: 3 destroyed
Ki-15 Babs: 1 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
B-17E Fortress: 2 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
124 casualties reported
Guns lost 2

Airbase hits 12

Allied aircraft losses
T.IVa: 1 destroyed, 1 damaged

Japanese Ships
AP Yamato Maru, Torpedo hits 1, on fire

Japanese ground losses:
38 casualties reported

ASW combat

Didn't mentioned sub and anti-sub warfare much. The reason for that is no presence of enemy subs in my waters. He using them for evacuating. My subs worked fine, but i'm faced with first victim of monsterous allied ASW. phew!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub attack at 22,54

Japanese Ships
SS I-153

Allied Ships
AP Zealandia, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage

Allied ground losses:
32 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASW attack near Muntok at 21,55

Japanese Ships
SS I-153, hits 7, on fire, heavy damage

Allied Ships
DD Express
DD Electra
DD Tenedos

poor I-boat did not have chance in shallow waters

CHINA

unfortunatly, my plan for surrounding enemy at the Changsa won't work. Andy is too catious and he withdrew some units in hex east of Changsha. I have one division, 2 bde's and one tank rtg north of Changsha and i send them east but there is not much hope for great encircling...

PHILIPPINES

Heavy air raids on Manila and CF continuing. Andy withdraw part of his forces from Naga, recon reported 7 enemy units (27000) just one hex from Naga. Does it mean that he changed PP's to Clark? However, i can't risk with that, and IMO there is no need for that. Manila should fall soon. 2th Division and support troops arrived at Naga.

Ground combat at Naga

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 86378 troops, 843 guns, 165 vehicles

Defending force 5038 troops, 38 guns, 1 vehicles

Japanese engineers reduce fortifications to 0

Japanese assault odds: 28 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese forces CAPTURE Naga base !!!

Japanese ground losses:
581 casualties reported
Guns lost 16
Vehicles lost 1

Allied ground losses:
441 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/16/41

Not a good turn. One DD and couple of PGs sunk, even my naval leader gained tactical advantage... but 90% of fired shots were from american PTs.... and it is really annoying to see how 0.5inch can penetrate and cause critical damage on DD. phew... What is really interesting, AK Sagoland kicks my 2 aux ships... buahahha!

Well, Andy certainly love PTs... oh, and my I-boats this turn were in strike. I especially worried about lone MSW on PH-SanF route... she did not move today and i can not allow this. Sub sent to her position but no action from her.

I'm interested guys what do you think about this tactic, lonely , "low-point recon" ships?

This turn, Alor Star got attention from B17s. I hope he will switch back to the Kuching because i've transfered 3 Zero daitai's there.

Catalinas from Amboina spoted my invasion fleet and I'm not sure is it worth to take risk becase i do not have air support there....

Weather still killing me! Saigon, Aparri, Legaspi closed.

SITUATION IN SE PACIFIC - just attracting enemy attention

Nice map. Thanks for that. paul please see my previous post and consider my substandard advice for dealing with the B-17 menace out of singapore.

I don't think the low point recon ship tactic should be outlawed cause it is possible to do in real life but I wouldn't do it myself. I prefer just to send in the big boys and get the job done.

Keep fighting hard pauk. You almost got him. Look at my signature for motivation!!

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/17/41

Hi, Andy is not stupid. Even if I manage to launch air strike, he will certaintly keep his B-17s in the air (on mission). So i would catch only short range bombers (although this is not a bad, and i'm planning to do it, especially after......

my SAMURAI's shows who is the ruler of the sky! Finally i have some luck here (many my brilliant plans failed due to bad luck) but this time everything went perfectly.....my "vulture tactic" pay off this time:). 21 enemy planes destroyed on the ground during air strikes on Rangoon and Manila. What a good turn....

All in all enemy lost 89 planes and brave japanese airforce lost 7 planes (A2A 66:3, field 21:0, flak/ops 2:4). Crucial moment was when my Zero's succesfully bounced part of AVG, latter they easily crushed enemy bombers (only few get through).

this is very important victory for me. The benefits are:

1. app 25% of AVG were eliminated (19 planes)

2. 8 B-17 E and 5 B-17 C were lost + quite a lot other bombers.

3. I managed to bring reinforements in the Kuching (Base fore and naval const btn + supply)

4. Enemy bomber groups (especially B17) now are demoralised (lots of them turned off). Does anyone can guess about their moral level?

5. 16 B-17 E damaged and they are grounded now in Singapore, so Sing AF is perfec target now.

6. Andy's moral will be affected too.

Kuching is slowly repairing. 14 AF damage, 32 service damage and 62 port damage. But i already have 160 eng there.

I'm planing retaliation mission on Singapore AF, but again i have extremely bad weather (thunderstorms). I have two AFs now available for air strike on Singapore:

Alor Star (air HQ is in Songhia(range 4) - will they provide support for strike?) and Saigon (yes, i have to use Betty and Nells)

I'm not sure which AF to use, the best solution would be both but i don't have decent escort for both of them. I have no choice, must use Zero's with 20 or more fatigue....

Enemy sub torpedoed APD at the Camrah Bay. Betty from Saigon torpedoed AP Van Imhoff (traveling towards Singapore - loaded with men).

Recon ac reported massing enemy troops in the Manila. Clark is almost empty. I wonder what kind of trick it is? Personally I would be more than glad that Andy pick Manila for last stand, but i doubt...

My troops arrived at Chagsha. Andy have 60 000 men there.

Wow you really are brilliant. Your plan of hurting his airforce in aerial combat and then bombing the airport coupled with perfect execution of the air battle is genius. This is why I think you should be in the top 5 IJN players list. Expanding is gonna be so easy now without the nagging naval bombings on your TFs. It looks like your bad luck flu is still there a bit with the thunderstorms protecting his base but don't worry cause luck is like the weather and soon changes.

pauk, do you remember the relative altitudes of the planes? It looked like his were all set to 6000 in previous posts so how about yours? I'm wondering cause in my practice game the B-17s are very hard to kill even with constant attention from zeros and tend to only get damaged.

thanks... but then again, a previous game against String really helps me to prepare myself against such nasty things - It seems that Andy plays in that way although he is to hasty at the moment. And it is pretty easy to be good Jap player at the start of the game - wait til 43 and 44...

Yes, his bombers flew on 6 000 ft....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/18/41

Thx guys, but i was aware that my luck won't last for to much honger. Even a brilliant plan do not worth a doit if you are without luck (there is one croatian saying hard to translate: it is better to born without "sausage" then without luck. Because if you have luck, your "saussage" will grown up)....

I've ordered 100-LB strike from Saigon with support of 60 fighters but bad weather prevents mission and Andy got warning (message "saigon air mission canceled). It is very sadly that was consider naval/airfield attack but leave them on af mission. Yes, you are guessing right - no cloud over saigon during PM phase. This time i changed orders to naval/af attack....

But, the worst news coming form Pacific - KB is spoted or better to say Val's found his sub(s).... however, i've ordered full speed to SE maybe i will catch something (sure!)

DEI/MALAYA

Two succesful intercepts of enemy transports near Singapore, light SC TF ("Sendai raiders" - Cl + 5 DDs) sunk AK Tjisareoea, AK Bengalen and AP Van Imhoff).

Lone DD Amigari had poor performance - only three shell hits hited AP President Mason (no real damage)

SS O20 torpedoed our AK at Kuching. I-154 returns the favor and put one fish in enemy AK NW of Batavia. Unsucessful naval attack from Alor Star with Sallys on enemy APs near Malacca. Advance through Malaya continues.

Brunei invasion group disembarking at the target.

-----------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on TF at 26,50

Allied aircraft

No Allied losses

Japanese Ships

Aircraft Attacking:

All Vildebeest IV bombing at 5000 feet

strike comes from Kuatan (range 3 hehe). Suprisingly, Sendai raiders group did not withdraw 6 hexes. Fortunatly, no attack with Swordfishs from Singapore - maybe they are already in suthern DEI?

PHILLIPINES

CF is still empty, but i still expect that enemy last stand will be in CF. More units reported in Lingayen...

I'm not just unlucky, i'm stupid too. When i changed orders for LB at Saigon, forgot to clear escort destination for zero's... and yes, Saigon AF was operational in the morning phase and i've lost more than 30 Betty/Nells.

(LBA were on naval attack and attacked enemy SC at Sing. escort was set on Singapore)

I have to withdraw and reorganize them.

During PM phase Singapore is finally attacked. The combat was fierce and Andy can claim stragegic victory. My tactical gain is another decimating AVG force, but i can not be pleased with 80:79 A2A losses in decembar...but it seems to me that more pilots survived than ac lost. fortunatly.

I-166 puts three torps in enemy AK. ASW TF drops 2 type91 bombs on O19 in Camrah port

Great news from KB. They engaged and sank MSW Grebe or something

In China, my units continuing cleaning railroad from single chinese units between Hsyiang (sp?) and Kaifeng.

My tank rtg again "shocked" by rangoon fort unit, but enemy suffer 380 losses (0-1 odds)

Uh oh, its looks like you reaped what you sowed earlier in the air war. But a good beating taken by both sides is the best kind of war. Don't worry, one blooper does not a man make stupid. Even Einstein couldn't find where he'd left his toothbrush sometimes.

I swear i will never go back playing vanilla map....

However Pauk...where's the 33rd Division? and the 55th? It seems that with one division you can burn the hell out of those white bastards and encircle them bypassing Mouleim. With only one mix regiment it's not possible imho

this case is closed:) My airforces already regroups!

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/20/41

I lost DD Hatsuharu - just two nasty PT's were enough to sink her near Brunei, although i had three more DDs in escort. My forces sunk only one... phew.

I-166 attacked on surface AK Kota Radja and puts one torpedo into her.

Sometimes i just hate game mechanics! Bettys at Kuching were on naval attack and got decent support, but instead attacking enemy SC at Singapore hex they attacked single AK docked in Miri!... but when they are without escort they will run into murderous enemy CAP....

Day Air attack on TF, near Miri at 31,57

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 38
G4M1 Betty x 12

No Japanese losses

Allied Ships
AK Sagoland, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Air attack on TF at 23,53

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 40
G4M1 Betty x 6

No Japanese losses

Allied Ships
AK Soerabaja, Torpedo hits 1, on fire

PM phase, same story :(

BURMA

tank rtg still defending position on Moulemein (sp?) - Rangoon. Unfortunatly don't have additional forces for encircling and destroying Burmanese brigades. But, considering that i have just one tank rtg and mix rtg i have to be pleased with current situation.

MALAYA

PHILIPPINES

First attack on Manila was usuccessful, but no more forts there! I wonder if i would get better odds with shock attack, but we shall never know that. Legaspi and Appari were closed and my soldiers did not get support from air. Well, i will rest troops for couple of days, meanwhile my bombers should soften Manila defence...

well, i'm thinking about Subchaser map.

As you can see from picture above they are engaged in Malaya. 33th Div just leaving Bankok and can not came on time in the Burma. That was initial plan - you can't advance at so many places in the same time. Singapore gets priority, i not expecting much from "Burma army group".

Gen, can you give me input from Allies view about ac losses? (and others are more than welcomed)

It depends Pauk. If I was him i'd swithc replacements off for every other p-40 ( B or E) groups on map. Then upgrade to p-40E asap that group of p-40Bs that is at PH at the begining of the war...so probably he can have more p-40Bs at his disposal...but however he won't be able to hold the line for a long time with those planes...replacements are too low and if you keep them under costant pressure with your crack zeros, he won't even be able to upgrade not to risk to have 72 planes under repair when you come with hordes of bombers well escorted to bomb the hell out of his airfield!

I'd produce many more Sallies and Helens...at least double production.
Some more zeros ( around 220/250) and defenetly more OSCARs!!!! You need them till august...then all those industries will start producing Tonies... so start planning since yesterday!
