Well, the A7M and the B7A1 are already in the stock game (aircraft # 007 and 023, respectively), the F7F and F8F are in the CHS, and Cobra's already done the G8N (it's a couple of pages back on this thread). It's in Cobra's "What if's Vol.2" pack, which Spooky has.

Would someone be able to take Subchaser's CHS F7F Tigercat pictured below:

and give it a night background like the one pictured here?

I love Subchaser's images and would love to have this one for my F7F-2N Tigercat night fighter. Please let me know if you need me to reduce the size to 96 dpi. I left it at 150 dpi thinking it might help any artists out there to convert them.

Thanks for any help!

Gary

night fighter conversion
Hi garry unfortunatly there are no unfilled night backdrops in SB's air panel and
there are to many shade variables to clean up the backdrop after tacking out an existing plane - here are two views

1 an attempt to keep original backdrop
2 a new night backdrop

Here's another request for you Big B, when you get a chance. It's a coast defense ship built by Japan for the Siamese navy, taken over by the Japanese during the war. I don't think it saw any action with the Japanese but it might make for an interesting "what if" shore bombardment ship with 2 x 2 8in guns. At 76 meters its about the same size as a US Asheville class PG (which is 73 meters long) only with a much bigger punch.

Many thanks!

Gary

A 76 meter ship with 4 8-inchers? Damn, that would have been interesting to be onboard when they were all firing...

One more request for Big B. The French CL Lamotte Picquet. Interned in Siagon during the war, I'm going to put her in Australia instead as a member of the Free French navy. Unfortunately all I have is a somewhat sketchy line drawing for a profile.

Thankyou!

She actaully saw action against a small French squadron. Lost the fight though.

One more a/c art request if the Elf would be willing and able to tackle it. I'm trying to incorporate the plane tops for the newly added planes below into both the Aptop and Aptop_alpha .bmp files. I tried it myself and finaly gave up when I couldn't get them aligned correctly for the air combat screens. I'm wondering if the Elf might be able to simply add the six new planes pictured below to the stock plane top files. I've crossed out the planes that don't apply, leaving only the newly added ones, the Singapore III (slot 105), F7F-2N (slot 235), Lancaster (slot 237), Seafire III/XV (slot 241), F7F (slot 242), and F8F (slot 244).

Many thanks for any help.

Yes, this is for the mod I'm working on. Your new stock plane tops look great! May I use them in my mod? If so, would it be too much trouble to incorporate the six plane tops mentioned above into it? Yourself, Big B, CobraAus, Subchaser and Sarge (as soon as he gets some of his plane sides done which I'm interested in) will be given honorable mention in the credits.

Yes. In fact I alluded to this possibility in my previous post. I will try to have them done today, but at the moment I am performing Santa duties... just snuck away while the wife calls everyone in the family to tell them about her new earrings......

What CHS aircraft are you planning on removing to add these aircraft? There aren't enough art slots available to accomodate them all...

As far as I can find, the Ki-34 is the transport plane the Allies called the Thora, and therefore already in the game.

This is the Ki-56:

OK,
Tranports require no top art as they are not visible in the game. They only use side art, but still use up a top art slot. We only have so many slots available for art, far fewer in fact than we do database slots, and in my opinion since side art is all that will ever be seen of any transport they don't warrant the use of the precious few slots we DO have.

By the way, who is making the decision to include these aircraft in the CHS? As a charter member this is the first I've heard of an official change in Aircraft that would require new art and the removal of previous CHS additions made by Lemurs!.

Besides, Half of the requests are transports. Are "We" sure they are necessary and will have the impact that say another more important fighter or bomber might have??

Need the info...

Hello Gary,

I noted a couple more requests you had. I just wanted you to know I am NOT ignoring them - I am just taking a Christmas Hiatus from artwork till mid January. I am on my annual Christmas to New Years vacation, and am just relaxing a bit. When the holidays are over I'll get back to working on your requests ( but I really want to turn out the IJN cruisers first).

So be patient and I'll get "a - round 'tuit'!"

Merry Christmas!

B
