Sequel to Tin Soldiers: Alexander the Great brings major improvements Matrix Games and Koios Works (www.koiosworks.com) today announced that the latest game in the Tin Soldiers series, Tin Soldiers: Julius Caesar has officially “Gone Gold” and will be available for sale from the Matrix Games website within a week. Caesar has several major improvements including a full 3D camera and non-linear campaigns.
David Heath, Director of Operations for Matrix Games said, “We are proud to bring the second Tin Soldiers game to fans of miniature, historic, and simultaneous turn based fans. Julius Caesar truly takes the series to the next level with additions of a wide variety of player-requested items and we hope to continue publishing Tin Soldier series games for years to come.”
Tin Soldiers: Julius Caesar adds a new look with a full 3D engine, allowing users to spin and zoom around the battlefield. It also sports a non-linear progression that is divided into two “chapters” of play, allowing much more flexibility in the strategy of where to strike next. Additionally improvements have been made to the AI and to the strategy behind the units. The Roman time period allows for the creation of Legion units, which are the backbone of your mighty army. Their extra power and maneuverability will be vital to defeating the enemies that would thwart Roman expansion.
Taking the role of Julius Caesar your campaign begins with the assault on the barbarian tribes of the north, culminating in the final battle at Alesia, ending chapter 1. Your attention then shifts to the Roman civil war, where you will seize power against the faltering Republic.
