New battles, interface improvement, rule tweaks and more in this incremental update
Matrix Games and Slitherine Strategies (www.slitherine.com) are proud to release the 1.2.5 incremental update for their popular ancient turn-based tactical system, Field of Glory. The update includes two new battles (Otterburn and Towton), improvements to the multiplayer game interface, a handful of rule tweaks, more documentation for new features that have come with the expansion, and some bug fixes.
Please note that this update is incremental and will require that Field of Glory be updated to version 1.1.2. This update is also required for ongoing multiplayer play and will be required for the upcoming Storm of Arrows expansion, which adds the armies of Medieval Western Europe to the Field of Glory system.
David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Field of Glory has been met with accolades and praise from critics and gamers alike. We’re happy to continue to expand and improve the game system especially as Storm of Arrows, the latest upcoming expansion, is just around the corner!”
Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents ancient combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield.
Field of Glory – Rise of Rome is the first expansion pack for Field of Glory, bringing tons of new content and features in addition to a comprehensive Digital Army Generator (DAG). The DAG allows you to design armies to a specific number of points and then take these armies in to single player against the AI or online in multiplayer. Making its first ever appearance on a Slitherine title, the DAG is a powerful tool for any wargames addict! If the ability to create one’s own finely tuned army isn’t enough, Rise of Rome also includes 5 new terrain types, 6 new battles, a random battle generator, and over 100 new units including camelry, scythed chariots and artillery!
The second expansion pack for Field of Glory, Storm of Arrows, is on its way soon. Covering the armies of Western Europe from 1300 to 1500 AD, Storm of Arrows allows you to fight against armies from the same period for historical match ups or engage in “what if” battles across different army packs to see how armies across the centuries would have fared against one another. Storm of Arrows also sports over 100 new unit images, new features like archers’ stakes, new Digital Army Generator features, and more!
