while the game works fine in windowed mode or full screen at my res tested, alt tabbing in and out can or could cause some issues, so if it does, just alter to compatibility mode and Vista, seems to solve that, or did for me anyway, had no issues in either screen size / mode tested with 4 tests run.

so for me as long as your desktop isn't too big, as i only went upto what was shown, it's up to you if you want full screen stretched or windowed.

Status: offline 		Thanks. So despite what the store page states the game will run in 1920x1080.

I'm really enjoying the air campaigns in WITW and this game caught my eye for some more strategic air campaign action.

I think I'll pick it up.

i found an error when alt tabbing in and out of windows, which was easy to fix with either a setting changed to windowed mode, or setting the compatibility tab to Vista and running as admin ticked in the same compatibility box, so it's not wrong either, some may get the issue while different hardware and software combinations won't, i may have just been unlucky.

but it does work.

Status: offline 		game has a maximum default supported, i only tested to my max which i 1920x1080, going above that will be any one guess, unless run in windowed mode

not that i know of, unless someone else comments, it just works like most GG games and support your desktop, upto a given max i'd guess

Status: offline 		no to the black boarders bit, video is atm a bit iffy, as while i see it, it's not in the box i expect it to be in, well not fully, as part of the box displayed is a different color, but the video is watchable, but not a 100% correct, which again is a minor issue, but not game related, more of a scaling or video formatting error and or codec related with dxr 9 not fully working with windows 10 i think or have heard /read somewhere

Status: offline 		I found that running the game through DXWnd allows you to play the game full screen with the same performance of windowed mode.

Some folks have used it to run SPWAW. You can download it for free here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/

An important setting for DXWnd to work is that all compatibility settings must be removed from btr.exe.
You can do this easily with DXWnd under Tools -> Clear compatibility flags.

Status: offline 		full screen, 1920x1080 was my desktop preference, so a shortcut would be the default one, with the windowed mode selected in preferences as shown in post 11

Status: offline 		I just bought this using version 1.03, and it runs very slow, and I do not get the full screen. Also when I patched to 1.03 I did not see an option for historic artwork.

I have a gaming alienware computer with a Geforce 1080, so it should not be running slow. I have windows 10, I want to run the game in 1920 X 1080. I am running it as an administrator and I did try the vista compatiblity mode.

Status: offline 		Update. I got it to work in 1920 X 1080 using DXWnd. Thanks to simovitch! Now I just want to be able to choose the historic artwork option. The graphics are a little fuzzy too, not sure what the fix is there. The speed is fine.
