So, some of you may ask, who the heck is Herbert Gronemeyer? Well, he played the naval war correspondent ("Marinekriegsberichter") Lt Werner in the classic 1981 "Das Boot" movie/tv miniseries, and later started a music career. I was curious about this, so I looked for some of his stuff. I found an interesting track called "Celebrate the Day", which is sung in English, and was used as a theme song for the FIFA at one point. To me, it sounded like something Peter Gabriel would do. I found some other samples of his music, and he covers a wide range of styles. I liked most of what I heard. Apparently, he's pretty popular in Germany, but never succeeded in breaking too far into the international music market. AFAIK, he didn't pursue his acting career any further. Any opinions on this guy?
