In our multi-player game, France is showing as having been conquered by a minor (I forget which one). This happened sometime after the French player changed the status of a minor from Free State to Conquered, and only became apparent when he went to do his economic phase. Is this a know bug or something new?

I don't know if this is new, or simply no one has noticed before.

Can you provide more information on how this happened? Is it affecting play? Which minor are we talking about and which year=month are you guys in?

A save file with instructions on how to re-create the problem are the only practical way for a problem to be fixed.

The country is Thuringia. The French player acquired it when Prussia declared war on the minor but failed to conquer it. During the march 1805 diplo phase, then converted the minor to conquered status. We think that this is when the game messed up - that instead of Thuringia becoming a French conquered minor, the reverse somehow happened. Now in the Econ phase, France is showing only conquered minor money and manpower (none of its original values are included.) Can this be fixed if we send the save file?

Yes, you'll need to send the save file to Marshall. Preferably in the French eco phase.

I've seen a report of a similar issue BUT we have yest to get a good dupe of this!
I would love to see your game right before this happens since I can watch the conquer actually happen!
The best possible save would be the last land phase player so that when he hits the end phase and moves to the eco phase, I can scope the code and watch it!

Sounds alot, like what happend with Sweden and GB in our game.

Around 1.07, Marshall tried to fix this during eco-phase.

And have us upgrade to 1.08 before it was official, this was before diplomacy-problem was reported(about requiring specific patchup history), witch we encountered after.

Regards
Bresh

We went back two backups and replayed the entire land phase over again. When France did his, the problem recurred. I will be sending the files to Marshall. Maybe he can fix the game for us. I will also post to Mantis.

in your game with Sweden and Britain, is that save still kicking around? Do you recall if GB had any corps inside Britain when it happened?

Marshall fixed it, but France is still not seeing it's money or manpower from its home provinces. Marshall, if you are reading this, I sent you the save files again. Can you fix that. too.

Marshall, any luck with figuring out the cause of this one?

Since this bug is so hard to track down, can you create a "bug" that stops the game as soon as a major power becomes conquored. That way the game can be frozen at a moment where you might be able to see what is happening and fix it. The players are going to have to send you the files anyways, so it might as well be at the exact time you need to see what is happening.

That is possible. I have been looking at the code to see where I can simply prevent this.

Any way game admins can add manpower, so we can do this ourselves and not bother Marshall?
