I'm playing as Britian with the two armies sieging in Normandy. During the execution phase one of these appears in Picardie even though I've not ordered it to move. It then gets mugged by the Grand armee.

What I think is happenning is that a russian cossack infantry is pulling them across as rienforcements to win it's battle. I get no say in the matter. The the GA arrives and the Brit army is screwed.

A chance to turn down allies would be useful.

You could always boot the cossacks out of the army. They'd still be in the fight, but if they decided to go elsewhere, the rest of the army wouldn't follow.

I didn't think you could control allies troops? I don't see how that's a solution.

Nor did I realize for that matter, you could call allies in as reinforcements. Ha, tells you how often I have allies. :)

If the cossacks are dragging a British Army down somewhere else I was assuming by his statement that they were attached to the army. I could certainly be mistaken, but I wouldn't have any other idea how they would affect the British...

It is true that your AI allies can call you in as reinforcements and there is presently no way to decline their invitation. A prompt to accept/reject an ally's reinforcement call has been on our wish-list of features for a while, and may make it into a features patch at some point.
