Continued from this thread

April 6 1940 (halfway through the turn, Allies move next)
By staging my defense in the Ardennes I managed to avoid large amounts of units from being cut off in Belgium... Elmer's going for Paris, that's for sure... he cut through the Maginot Line as if it was butter...

The Italians attacked along the Cote d'Azur advancing as far as Nimes

The invasion of Norway and Denmark started a week earlier than historically was the case... A handful of Polish troops -evacuated to Norway near the fall of Warsaw- kept the enemy paratroopers at bay till the Norwegian army got mobilized.

April 13 1940.... the Germans have opened up a corridor towards Paris and the whole French right flank is open... Time to start withdrawing the BEF and whatever French units capable of moving... Dunkirk and Calais are danger zones... Le Havre seems the place to stage my Operation Dynamo...

1 June 1940
Italy declares war and France and England. They attacked earlier than this
St.Etienne has been reduced to ruins.
Allied Forces capture St.Etienne.

8 June 1940
German Army at Gates of Paris. Paris declared open city.

Lyon has been reduced to ruins.
Allied Forces successfully defend Lyon.

22 June 1940
Allied Forces successfully defend Bergen.

29 June 1940
France surrenders.
But without the Germans capturing Paris first .. see pic for the situation on June 22... all French units -including the ones in the colonies- are gone except for an expeditionary force for Norway (I kept it in Scotland) and the Free French fleet which appeared as reinforcement. The greedy Duce takes advantage of the situation by moving into Tunisia... the Italians are also on the move in northern Greece... no Greek units on the map yet...

6 July 1940
Increased German Sealift for Seelowe. I wonder if Seelowe will go ahead... Norway has been cleared of the advance German paratroopers but there is a German build up on the North German coast, including the Gebirgsjagers... Denmark is almost theirs... the only defenders are a handful of static Danish units. The Polish units I sent to denmark did most of the defense, caused a considerable delay, but were all wiped out

20 July 1940
Axis Supply- Tunis
Axis Supply- Oran
Axis Supply- Casablanca
Axis Supply- Damascus
Vichy Govt in effect.

14 September 1940
Violent Channel storm hits German staging ports.
Allied Forces secure Sicily. All I did was make some probing "in and out passages of unmanned enemy ports there"

5 October 1940
Italian Forces surrender. If that makes the Italian surrender, phewwww... fact is that the Salo government is now in place with a few units in northern Italy...

I don't know if it's worth continuing this game... I must have broken some -unmentioned- house rules in this one ... and the invasion of Norway just didn't come...

Scenario designers should make a point of placing some sort of static coastal guns and/or port defenses in all anchorage hexes in games like this.  Not only is this entirely realistic, but it prevents gamey sillyness such as Italy surrendering due to ships passing through an unoccupied port.

I totally agree and also admit I indulged in "gameyness"
