I would like people to list their favorite house rules for
"historical-style" play.

1. In China, that a unit can only attack a base after it has over 50 PP for that base accumulated. Keeps both sides from rushing about like lemmings over there and the resultant intel gives the Chinese some clue where the attacks are coming in at.

2. Keep your A/c within 10% of the max limit of an airbase: 55 at level one, 440 at level 8; etc. Additionally, if over 250 A/c, have the addtional support that they would need. Or at least 360 instead of the 250 (360 being an AV regiment and it's companion BF from the Allied point of view).

3. No 20+ ship pure ASW forces; keep it reasonable.

4. Have an Air HQ in range before doing multiple group strikes by either side.

I'd also add: if you play the yanks, keep the ASW groups under 5 ships...it's reasonable and also gives Japan some more chances of conducing a decent sub warfare

Must have rules to make the game a bit less mass murder and super blitz.....

No submarine invasion’s

Aircraft

No 4E bomber missions under 6000', except for ASW/Recon missions.

No Corsair's allowed on US CV's until 1/44, except for transport missions.

No Naval Attack by Allied land based bombers (2E bombers) under 1000',
until 1/43.

Airfield stacking limited to (50ac x airfield level).
Units transferring must be set to training and do not count against the stacking limits.

US equivilant to an NLF?

Something about Btn strength (about 30 AV). Which isn't much.

The USMC Def Btns.
The three Aussie "bird" Btns at game start.
Raider Btns.

Most Allied units aren't at Btn strengtht tho.

Iwo is an atoll, isn't it? I would hate to try to take on Kobayashi with only 1 Division and a Regiment, if it is.

Iwo is not an atoll, or at least it should not be.
