i just bought a copy of massive assault and after loading it i click on play and only get the sound of starting the game and nothing else.i have windows vista can you help

Massive Assault has been discontinued and was never validated for Windows Vista. When it was originally released in 2002, Vista did not even exist. My suggestion would be to try a combination of the various compatibility settings, from XP compatibility to Run as Administrator, etc. and see if you can get it to work.
