I don't they or the Hellcat get enough respect for the work they did. The P-38 was one of the better looking planes IMO.

Looks like stitched together footage from a variety of sources, more like an intercept of a raid, how many Japanese bombers are there in the film?

A lot of the camera gun footage shows attacks upon G4M2e's carrying Ohka special attack aircraft - this is quite well known footage of a raid against the Okinawa invasion fleet, I think.
