So, I have problems with analog joysticks.
Namely, every joystick that I had tended to "shake" when centred. It makes flying rather difficult, especially in very agile fighters like Su-27.

Has anyone encountered such problem?

Check the joystick's properties (either via windows-control panel, or sometimes within the game's option menu) and look for a setting called "deadzone"

It's the area that's ignored when a stick is centered.

Increasing it by 1-2% should eliminate your problem.

Increasing deadzone didn't help.

Here's how it looks. One moment it's centred, then something like this happens. Often several times per second.

potentiometers, variable resistors that provide the feedback making the distance the stick moves directly proportional to the rudder/aerilon movement.

Hopefully not every joystick you've ever bought has damaged or dirty pots.

What are you plugging the joystick into ?

Since you've tried several joysticks and they all have the same problem, and your deadband adjustments don't have any effect, I'm inclined to question the joystick port on the sound card. Just using logic here.

The CH products I had recommended that the sound card ports NOT be used, IIRC, mainly for quality issues.

You might try finding some gameport to USB adapter and use that instead of the soundcard gameport.

Hope you find a solution.

Wow, and old Atari with modern interface bits.

I guess I'll have to to get an adapter. Thanks for help.

Yeah I had an old Logitech stick that wouldn't hold rudder alignment.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look st it) the age of the flight sim is mostly over. Sad...but on the same token I know you can easily spend a couple hundred dollars for a stick / throttle assembly so I'm not too broken up...too many other things I need.

Worst joystick ever made. White plastic ring breaks after 20 minutes of Summer Games. Every. Time.

Your in luck then. This replica has a solid back piece of plastic (see picture) that connects into the lower assembly. No hollow rubber stick with plastic ring inside.

Archon and M.U.L.E. play like they should now.
