I am going full sir robin on this one. Going to manage to get over 9K into Chungking with no stacking limits. Interesting to see how long it takes MrKane to dig that mess out.

Weather is milder, bombers are faster, I have limitations on night bombing of airfields and ports. Scenario 1.

My goal is to beat my last game of November 1945.

In my opinion MrKane is one of the best players in the game. At least that get talked about in AAR's.

I am very honored he chose to play me a 2nd time.

+1, but so are you when you aren't rushing the turns. I was blown away by how you planned so far in advance that you could conduct multiple large invasions with well-prepped troops, well escorted and with good assault shipping allocation.

Mr. Kane has a different style, going for the deep, risky attacks that can either pay off big or flop spectacularly. He will expend assets in a manner I would call a reckless, but others would say "calculated, manner. I lost my calculator a long time ago so I can't figure when losses are "worth it"!

EDIT: Meant to add, I hope you can find the time to describe the action to us at least weekly!

I still have the game with Lowpe going in the middle of 1942 as well as this one so I really dont have the time for an AAR in detail. Hope to do a monthly report. We are flipping turns like mad right now since everything is practiced in the first few months.

Also fixated on building a 28mm scale tavern/inn which is taking up a huge amount of my time ;]

What does 28mm scale mean? 28mm to one foot? one metre? 100 mm?

You know that cobblestone is going to be a bear to clean the ale, vomit, blood and peanut shells out of!

There is a debate but it is somewhere around 1/58 scale. It is used by warhammer 40K and other games. Essentially a full size doorway is 1 3/4" high and 1" wide. My floors are 3" high with 1/4" thick flooring in between. May drop down to 2 1/2". The biggest concern about this project is ultimately the weight.

Cobblestones are for horse **** and piss... Tavern is 2 levels up with a hardwood floor ;]

It's just a flesh wound!!!

Closing on the end of January 1942. MrKane has besieged Singapore, Manila, and Kweiyang(?) near Chungking. I have managed to stash 16K of troops in Chungking with over 1K still on the way. Interested in seeing if he is going to break this before Lowpe breaks Chungking where I did not pull a sir robin.

Port Moresby just fell but no action in Java yet.

He is serving me turns faster than I can complete them :]

Early February 1942 - Chungking has a massive 18K+ AV under lvl 6 forts with approximately 32K of supplies. This is a no stacking limit game.

March 1942.

We are flipping about 6 turns a day.

China is surrounded but not yet besieged. AV at Chungking approaching 19K but supplies have run out. Burma has not been invaded. Manila is still holding.

It is early May 1942. MrKane has almost finished mopping up on Java. There are 20,800AV of troops in Chungking and I think he will have to make a few more large scale attacks before he has any chance of reducing the city significantly. Attu Island was just invaded, not sure how far he wants to go but there are no troops in the Aleutians at all.

No sign if he is going to make any attempts on Australia or India at this time.

Working hard on ship and troop upgrades. The Aussie troops are completely converted to 1942 squads.

Have about a year before I consider serious advances on the board.

Losses don't seem to be too heavy.

Lack of losses on the Allies side seems good, but lack of losses on the Japanese side outweighs it. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

He is well on is way to an auto victory as he is beyond 3 to 1 and will be closing in on the needed 4-1 in 1943. Losses are very low for both sides and it looks like a prize fight and the first 4 - 5 rounds has been nothing but a series of jabs and dancing. If he continues to take high value bases without suffering some more substantial loses this game might be over 1 Jan 1943. If you plan to play keep away until you get the Essex class carriers that will be too late. The PBEM I am playing, I am the Allies is on 10 May 1942 and though the Japanese have almost the same points your opponent has, I have 9,000+, giving my opponent a 1.5 to 1 ratio at present. Our aircraft losses are 2,3000 for him to 1,300 for me. Ship sinkings are 230ish for me 115 for him. Army loss rates are lower for the Allies but not by much but higher for the Japanese. It is interesting to compare your totals to ours at almost the same point in the game. I like to see the difference in the way others play the game.

Spot on, this is the main problem of Sir Robin. Mr Kane might not even need take more bases, just build up those high-value ones he already has. And Allies do not have enough attacking oomph in 42 yet to go on the offensive and effectively pressure Japan away from auto victory

Mr. Kane will likely get AV and then we will continue the game until his surrender sometime in 1945 or 1946.

If we were ending at AV I would be playing a different type of game such as against Lowpe.

Since you have already agreed not to end when and if he reaches AV level, that allows you the freedom to play a waiting game on the arsenal of Democracy to kick in. Since you are king of the Allied side you can't fire yourself for poor performance, it's good to be king.
