Well game is quite boring. Mike has run into buses and he still refuse to look out :(
1942/1943 auto-victory is now inevitable. However due pre-game agreement we will continue game further.

I have in my hands PM, Horn Island, Suva, Noumea and other small islands on south pacific.

In China Mike have retreated all armies to Chungking and managed to hold for 3 moths. City has fall last turn with record looses for Chinese army. I have never seen such huge losses before in this game, so I am going have good red wine tonight :D

I do not have VPs numbers exactly from turn before, but it was 23K+. Now VPs numbers are: 27227(Jap) and 6037(Ally), Ratio 4.510. It looks like gain is around 4K. Additional bonus is that all 18 Divisions !!! and all tank regiments !!! are now with experience level 99.

Those are going to be tough to move later.

He'd have been much better off sticking a bunch of the Chinese in the mountains, a few in every hex, and letting you wade through for a year or two. Might have even been left with a few in the end. The mechanism for retreat when there is no base available to move toward means they'd just sit until absolutely wiped out, usually.

I think you should use some of those (after buying) and take Karachi. Then the rest of India. I don't think it's been done, so why not?

Agreed. Incredible outcome.

Taking Karachi would be so cool. Then take out SOV.

Having All of ASIA would be a real new HIGH mark for the IJ.

28th Nov 1942

Still very little activity from Allied side. But generally I believe Mike will try one more time to retake PM and Horn Island before he will heading for DEI. ( He abandoned first attempt in September when one PBY spotted KB near Woodlark Island. There is a lot of ships and LCUs in Townsville. All protected by over 600 fighters - all allies fighters ???.

36 Ki-43-IIb from 50th Sentai(Port Moresby) went to sweep base twice at Nov 26 and Nov 28. Result was not very encouraging, I have lost 15 fighters and 7 pilots for destroying 18 only Allied fighters.

36 G4M1 from 751 Kuk escorted by A6M2 from 202, 204, 252 Kuk raided Cooktown at Nov 28. They managed to destroyed on airfield 8-9 patrol planes without any resistance.

30-40 B-24 from Brisbane raided Noumea at Nov 28. 36 A6M3a from Chitose Kuk manged to shoot down 3 bombers, additionally 1 was shoot down by AA. However airfield is damaged(21) and I have lots there 3 recon/patrol planes.
After attack I have moved to base 251 Kuk(45 A6M3a) to help protect base.

Well, do not call wolf, wolf my be nearby !!!

Very next turn all allied carriers show up east of New Caledonia.

It seems that as usually allied flattops are moving with fighters only. My small air deatachment was not strong enought to break out to ships ;(. I seems that we will see landing at Noumea in 2 days. I have moved all planes back to Rabaul and both fighter groups were converted to A6M3a.

I have hopes this will turn to be beginning of new campaigning, not just CAP trap ( I have not spotted any transport ships ).

His CAP performed rather poorly in my opinion.

No landing. Allied fleet has changed course to south-east and, still keeping 9 hex distance. My naval-search still have not spotted any transport ships. Detected ships are mostly cruisers, carries and battleships.

20 subs is patrolling waters between allied fleet and Noumea. If he continue moving around for 2 days I will have additionally 20 subs and 200 new mines will be laid in port.

R&D update:
several planes went into production during this quiet period of time.
List:
A6M3a, A6M5, Ki-44-IIc, Ki-43-IIb, Ki-48-IIa, D4Y1, Ki-61-Ia ...

You got one hit.

APD Little, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage

Are you going after the Kikka?

I bet you could really punish the Allies with that guy, and some decent last generation fighters! You will have time to get them, too!

I had them in previous game vs Mike. But there was no good opportunity to use them due short range. I lost half of them due night bombing AF by hordes B-29. So this time I will not build them especially that we are playing scenario 1.
