I played the first battle of Tulagi Campaign (advance). I conquered all the victory points, loose only 37 soldiers (no one squad was annihilated) + 2 amphib. vehicles and killed more than 100 enemies and destroyed some cannons. The result was about 3500 points for me, 2500 for the enemy - draw!?! How he could get so many points? Should I run through the forest with my soldiers and search for the hidden enemy units when I already control the objective area?
I though that there is necessary to get the victory points and possibly to minimalize losses.

There is a per turn vic marker in the big vic hex. I got a decisive by not following the rules by buying a marine para company, which I dropped right on the vic hexes. Took the big one before turn one. I got a decisive in each of the battles, I just couldn't see coming over by amtrac or barge. It meant that I couldn't have any armor, but I didn't expect to use any. The paras had enough firepower to stop Japanese counterattacks, and enough staying power to assault in the later scenarios.
thanks, John.
