When I set as ASW aircraft to range 4 does it only search out to half this range as the manual sort of indicates? Or is only the maximum range get halved? Or is the halving of the range no longer in effect. (Maybe just a carryover in the manual from UV).
After all I thought that the reason for halving the range in UV was to get a more concentrated search which you now achieve by setting different ranges.

Other then halving of the range(?) is there any real difference between naval search and ASW search?

The range you set is the range that the aircraft will search too, the less the range, the more effective the search

Yes, for Naval Search all is clear, but for ASW if I set 4 hexes will it fly 4 or 2 ?

On page 115 of tje manual it says that the range of ASW aircraft is halved. Are you saying that this is an error. I thought that it might have just been a carry-over in the manual from UV.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone verified that aircraft set on ASW patrol will still report sighted surface TFs? See... the question is related to the thread subject.
