Panama ain't so bad.

Gen. Brett's new command, B Coy, 320th AA Balloon Bn.*, shortly after training and deployement from Fort Davis in Tennessee, conducts an exercise over the Canal. No tittering now, we haven't seen at least 3 of the Jap carriers for weeks. We dont want another Pearl Harbor,do we.

* 320th AA Balloon Bn was probably never in Panama (they deployed to Europe)

How is this for service? Not only does the US have to make the damn things (Kittyhawks), but they get special parking places on the USS Ranger, which makes a special stop to drop them off in the Middle East and provides the drivers for door to door delivery.

Not to worry though. Just keep using those Lysanders and Wirraways a bit longer

Dang..you guys are too good with the references. I need to be a little more oblique perhaps.

Check this out...Rodenberry really was a B17 pilot in the South Pacific

I used to be a big star trek fan back in the day. I saw a special or something years ago about Gene Rodenberry and I recall him being in a b-17.

Its fun to "lose" sometimes. The Palembang/Timor line gets dented a bit and Palembang is under some pressure, but the destruction of Japanese fighters at Balikpapan and Japanese bombers in the offensive over Palembang has made Koepang a safer place for Allied planes.

J. for Joseph, i take it.

Regrettably, he seems to have fallen from J. Edgar's favor sometime between the war and the 1950's, when he was a Detective on the LAPD.

Get a load of this Neanderthal. It seems times have changed. Earlier in the thread I was having sport with Australian racism. It seems there was plenty to go around. (I didn't make this up either )

DeWitt's order was issued April 1, 1942. Interestingly, and perhaps not coincidentally, an important secret US Navy operation was launched from San Francisco on April 2, 1942. Any ideas?
