If only the THREAD would once again reveal itself to this unworthy one then I would again feel renewed.

Currently, I am playing as the Allies. Thus, they are the good guys while the Japanese are the Dark Side.
Usually, in most games in Europe, I play the Germans because I love the Panther and Tiger tanks.

Not well for me. I made 1 huge mistake at game start and that has cost me over 1000 points =

I THOUGHT KB had retreated so I moved some damaged BB's back to West Coast. They were all sunk en route by Pompack's KB. Not doing that again.

I believe Pompack is performing a doctored 'Laurent' approach = Taken Johnston/Palmyra and Noumea/Luganville et al. After the early BB losses I haven't lost much in the way of shipping/air/LCU's.

The problem is that due to the loss of SRA stuff + BB's + Noumea = he has AV easily at the moment (we're upto mid May 42).

I still have time and I have plans obviously. Unsure as to what/if Pompack is upto next...........

i suspect you are right about his approach being a "modified Laurent".

My biggest (i think) mistake was before the game began - i suggested we do variable deployment, and drew operation infield, having 2 carriers smashed up at PH on Dec 7. This put me in a real hole to start.

This was aggravated by losing 2 more carriers in a set of circumstances that i think i can call fairly strange, but still ultimately my fault. Pompack knows about it (the weird circumstances), but no one else does. It took me 3 days of combing through stuff to figure out what went wrong, although it is "obvious" in hindsight.

Ultimately, i think i am going to lose the game over China, though. i've had real problems moving Chinese troops (partly due to my own inexperience, and partly due to glitches - i.e. troops moving to a critical blocking position stop moving, or move somewhere else that i DIDN'T order them, or move at extraordinarily slow rates), and i've lost too many of them due to this to mount a good defense.

Perhaps the original visitation (which i missed) was due to the sacrifice of Nik's GF's cat...

Terminus, have you still got The Holy Meat Hammer ready?

Good, good - now, anyone else want to volunteer their GF's cat? Maybe we should stick to cats as it seems to have pleased The Thread.

Nik,
I have both the East Front and West Front by Talonsoft.
I also have many of the Panzer Campaigns by HPS.

I like the ability of the German ground units against both the US/Brits and Russians. Especially the Panther tanks. and the MG platoons

Somehow, I started this game as the Allied and have little experience playing the Japanese. Usually, I like the underdogs in most war games.

Go Figure. . . . .
