hmmm... doesn't everything?? The Gary Larson Far Side cartoon of a cow eating a steak comes to mind. The other cows are looking horrified, and the steak eater was saying "Hmmm... offhand I'd say we taste like chicken!"

Well, i found the cartoon. The cows do not seem to be as "terribly horrified" as i remembered...

Thanks for the cartoon, i think that should keep Mr. Frag happy for quite a while. Dare I ask how you knew where to find the inflatible sheep box though?

Wish I could say the same. I stopped my opponents original attacks on Wuchow and Changsa and Homan. I gave him Yenen without a real fight. Now though he has worked 2 divisions around my flanks at Sian and has taken the road to Chunking cutting off supply. I am working on freeing the road, but moving two japanese divisions takes a lot of troops. Sian and Homan are well dug in, but Im not sure how long they can hold. He has about 8 divisions at Homan. Also, Homan is now surrounded the only way out is cross country. If it falls he can move right on to Sian and probably Chunking before I can get those forces back.

well, 'tis embarrassing.

i had a supply mission to Wake Island (he is 0 for 2 in taking it). i KNEW he was going to come after it with the KB (or part of it), so i was ready. i had my carriers steaming out to provide air cover, and a large force of bombers ready at Midway, as well as some PTs and P40s.

The plan was the supply mission would run past Midway and rendezvous with my carriers who had >100 fighters on CAP well east of Midway, and the bombers would drive off the KB from any serious pursuit. i routed the ships through Midway, hoping the KB might follow in its path, and the PTs would get a crack at them.

Instead what happened is the supply mission stopped at Midway and refueled and replenished (i forgot to check do not refuel for the supply ships), so here come the carriers into rendezvous at Midway. Since they are at a coast hex, the CAP barely flies. The carriers launch their few attack planes (i had loaded up with fighters) and are slaughtered. The heavy bombers decline to take part in the exercise to any significant degree. My carriers are hit and eventually sunk. Then there is the painful retreat towards PH with the KB in hot pursuit - and his Kates (apparently) start dropping torpedoes from 19000 feet, killing everything in their path while avoiding almost all flak... it is painful just to think about it.

And all because i decided to route the stupid supply ships through Midway, hoping the IJN would get attacked by the PTs...

Status: offline 		Poor RUPD3658 - he had been trying hard the past few times, and i did this one in honor of him (and his coyote avatar...)

Anyway - as for the naked coyote, several of these have been spotted in Texas, and people immediately starting saying they were the mythical "chupacabra" again. Wildlife biologists say these are coyotes with severe cases of mange, and so are apt to act in a peculiar/atypical manner.

Hi Niceguy,

A couple of thoughts. Firstly, without supply you are doomed. Secondly, I wouldn't worry even if you are forced back to Chungking. PROVIDED you can evac your troops in good order. With the urban defence bonus and the fact Chungking will actually INCREASE your supplies (it is in one of my games despite me having over 230,000 men there).

Even if you lose the Chinese front bases provided you can evac men in good order you can make a 'final stand' at Kunming and Chungking and STILL have a chance.

My God. A story and a half. I have heard of that 'combat quirk' before. What's the score in your game so far? You tagged any of his CV's? I have only managed to sink CVE Hosho with a Mk XIV
