Erik,

If the upload goes well tonight, do you have a time frame that the game will be available in the store?

This is funny. I moved out to the west coast last fall and it's finally paying off! I get 3 MORE HOURS of Tuesday evening for MF to come out. Seriously, I've been checking in every 30 minutes or so and just cracking up at all the "is it out yet?" messages. See you in a half hour...

CPTBrown,

Wow I didn't know time zones were that important to everybody. Anyway with that being said don't forget Erik said Tuesday evening Eastern time and not Pacific.

I think it is a sign of how starved folks are for a non-Madden Football sim. As good a coach as he was, do you think he has any ide how badly they have drug his name through the mud?

Not as long as the healthy checks keeps coming he could probably care less. Kind of ironic really since I myself could care less about the Madden games.

You make a good point. I just hate to see how part of my childhood is now a joke. He was coaching the first football game I ever watched. I dont know why I Remembered that, but I do. Raiders-Vikings, late 70's. Now that was smashmouth football.

You are right my friend those were the days when men played football because they loved the sport and not for multi-million dollar contracts. Also in those days when they ran their mouths they backed it up, today... well I think alot of players actions speak for themselves.

Its the same thing I tell people about the school I work in. We have a 45% poverty rate for our student body and everyone says it is a bad school. I tell them far from it, you hear about our 5% who are knuckleheads. Let me tell you about my other 95% who are good kids for the most part.

Same with professional sports today. For every (insert prima donna here) there are 40 guys who play with as much desire as they ever did back in the day. Its just that society is more tollerant of the Primadonna player because he makes for a good "sportscenter clip". The Kids see it and they think it is the way to be. That is my biggest day to day battle.

I teach the 5% so-called knuckleheads (detention center), and many of them are good kids too, who come from incredibly heart-wrenching family circumstances. This does not excuse their actions, especially when people are hurt, but some of them respond quite well if you show some geniune compassion and caring coupled with a love for teaching and learning.

Now, how am I supposed to prepare for class tomorrow if I'm checking the Matrix site every two minutes for the release of Maximum Football?

I am presuming that you didnt mean to come across like I took it.

The local paper is more than ready to run any story they can and attach our name to it as long as it a negative story. The local "golden school" had one player go to a small D1 last year. We had three go to bigger and better D1 programs. Guess which school got the big write up and which school wasnt mentioned. Guess which school had a student appointed to a service academy and couldnt get it into the paper.

My "knuckleheads" are the kids I worry about every night, and every weekend. They are the ones I print out my notes for so that they have the study guide. They are the ones I think about when I look for new ways to involve them in lessons. You ever try to come up with a rap about the War of 1812?

I'm sure your an excellent teacher. I didn't mean to call that into question. I was just trying to make a point about the "throwaway kids" that nobody wants and I see all the time. And yes, I do try to use innovative teaching methods to reach these students.
Anyway, I wish you success or should I say your students success and a continued love of learning. Besides, I'm so tired, I probably should get some rest and stop trying to write coherent replies to posts as I wait for the greatest game yet to be released: Maximum FB. I'm sure their working hard at it.
