Harpoon 4?

Any of the old SSI Civil War games.

I also LOVED the old vga monitor classic "F-19 Stealth Fighter" by Microprose. I played the hell out of that too. Deep incursions into Western Russia to take a snapshot of some radar station while flying <200 feet in the air the entire trip... at night: fun stuff.

I also liked the Close Combat series a lot until the series was bought and then torn apart by that new dev team.

No Greater Glory!

On the other hand, it would be sufficient if someone would tell me how to run it under Windows XP .

I think I still have that on an old computer somewhere. Haven't played that in ages. Great game.

Age of Rifles would be my top pick--and it is nice to see that it is a popular title.

Flight Commander 2 is still on my hard drive, but an updated version would be nice.

I think a new version of the original Wargame Construction Set, utilizing the power of modern PCs would also be very interesting.

Forgive my late reply on this.

I would LOVE to see Matrix get X-Com and its follow-ups. I just tried to get it running on my XP machine, and it was a no-go. It would be great to see them updated and refined somewhat.

SIM ANT!!!! hahaha I just found this old old game and I had forgotten how much fun it was. Graphics are dated of course, but, the gameplay is still there. Gettting an army of 50 ants and chasing that spider around the yard is still hilarious. Crushing the red ants before they crush me is still a challenge in every early game. The AI just isn't bright enough for a full scale yard war though, if I win the initial piece of dirt I always expand and win even when I let them get 3/4ths of the backyard/house. Sim Ant also brings new meaning to "FOOD FIGHT" haha

the units have some trouble maintaining the formations on the move because of topo obsticales but the depictions of the vehicles and infantry units and weapons are quite nice.

Was that series released before STARFORCE Ruin T? I been looking at the anthology since it's less than $10 now, but, if any of them have STARFORCE on them I'm not getting it anyway.

I found this, and others, indicating it installs with Sudden Strike...Dunno for sure.

Ravinhood,

I'm not sure if it does. But I have all of the series presently on my hard drive Sudden Strike, Sudden SrikeII, Sudden Strike Resources for years. I have played these games quite a bit, lots of fun!. Have not noticed any adverse effects to my system.

Thanks Goblin that's enough for me to stay clear of the anthology. CDV is well known for using starforce on other products anyway so not even gonna take a chance already lost two cdroms thanks to CDV and UBI software.

Close Combat gets my vote. Though I'd want to get new games (but keep them overhead 2D) and not just a re-release of the series since I already own them and they work fine in XP.

Give Dean Essig a call (if he’s still alive) and work a deal to produce/support a computer version of all of The Gamer’s Civil War Brigade series games.

I've got 4 of 'em done for VASSAL if you can live without computer AI.

No Better Place To Die

Perryville

Thunder At The Crossroads II

In Their Quiet Fields II

Here's a low-res screenshot of a pbem game of ITQFII that I have going now (playing as the Confederates): Fighting at "The Cornfield".

How about Imperialism 2

I preferred the original Imperialism. I actually kept an old computer on the side for a few years until it died just so that I could play that game. It didn't work with the next version of Windows which is why I kept the old system. I would play that game for hours and hours. (It caused several late night (early morning??) fights with my wife)

I would also love to see a remake of Red Storm Rising. I had it for my old Commodore Amiga. That was the most fun I had with any sub simulation that I ever had.

The Ironclads plus the Expansion Pack -originally released by Yaquinto, sold to Excalibur Games (who shipped a 2nd edition that is no longer in print), now owned by Thoroughbred (?), a miniatures company... great WEGO board game that the Miniatures Warriors easily adapted to their passion. I can see this game produced in the style of TS:ATG with a WEGO system that allows reaction phases so that golden opportunity for a full broadside with 15 inch Dahlgren’s doesn't float on by...
