Hey all. Reason I ask that is a buddy of mine and I have been at it a while in a 1.795 game we started... Like anyone else, we advanced to 1.8 and frankly had an apalling result occur...

Here's the combat results of an IJN attack on a USN carrier TF just 2 hexes distant. All experiences were in the 60's and 70's and full sorties were available (i.e. fully supplied)

Since when did Kates elect to bomb in those instances? I've NEVER seen such a thing. I've been told time and again that the altitude you set aircraft to is irrelavent as they will change to make the appropriate attacks. Weather was not a factor...

We should have wiped each other out... Here's the other part of the problem. This is his attacks just prior...

At a range of 2, his Avengers didn't even lift a finger. Truth be told, they didn't make a single naval attack all game. Just Dauntlesses? Dare I say it? "WTF, over?"

None of these results really track. This is a show-stopper for us on the game and will likely have to start yet again in a 1.8 game. Still, we wanted to get some insight from other players/programmers about what could be amiss?

Nope. First thing I checked... And his Avengers weren't either. It was all Naval...


And honestly? Even if the IJN "debacle" in this result made some form of sense, the fact that not once could he get his Avengers off the deck in the game (7 game months played) denotes a problem somewhere...

I can't say I've seen bad results yet going from 1.795 to 1.8, but I haven't had a carrier battle yet.

its hard to say, but it does seem to that my kates are a bit more selective on when they attack, but that could be a number of different things. for example, perhaps the leader changes could be affecting the results more?
