For reasons I can't figure out, I've lost the scrolling reports that, following combat, list the number of kills for particular pilots.  I have combat reports, etc. on.  I am seeing the animations.  I am getting the combat report (the one with MacArthur to the right of the report).  Usually, after that was closed, the scroll would list the "LTJG Smith was credited with kill number 3" type message.  I don't see that now.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as to where this preference is controlled?  I must have known it when I disabled it.  However, for the life of me, I can't find it now.

Thank you!

It has disappeared in 1.8x.
No idea why

Kind of bothers me really
Well, at least I assume it's because of the patch, because it stopped right after I upgraded my games.

The messages are still there, they just don't display during turn execution.  Look in the Operations Report.

This was done intentionally to speed up turn resolution.  Too many messages scrolling past - it encouraged players to set message delay very low and thus run the risk of missing an important message.

Also reduced submarine sighting reports during turn resolution to just the first one of each sub per turn.

All messages remain in combat reports.

Thank you all very much!  That answers it for me.  I couldn't figure out what I'd changed, so I'm glad I'm not losing my mind!

Don,

Was any change made to the probability of sub sightings, or just the reporting?

Well, just because this was an intended change doesn't mean you aren't losing your mind....

Just the reporting during turn resolution.

This is a phenomenon that will have to be investigated. Research requires large quantities of beer.
