I'm not making any release predictions just yet. The new PDS is only one small part of what is being done to the game so there is still work to do yet.

here's a thought/ important issue about PDS 2.0

as i'm creating my formations, i realized there are some formations that i can't create because of the restrictions of PDS 1.

i.e. Split Backs 3WR formation
the PDS doesn't let me remove the TE and replace him with a WR; i'm only allowed to replace either a HB or FB for an extra WR.


the ability to have remove at out choice either a TE, HB, FB or WR would let us create these other formations. ideally the option to have 0-3 players for TE, HB, FB would give us flexibility to create these other formations; i.e 0-5 for WR would also allow to create 5 WR formations.

i hope that this flexibility can be put into PDS 2. i think these restrictions are an important issue when it comes to creating formations/ plays.
it would be ideal to highlight (left click/right click) a position within the editor and then have a drop-down box of positions we could select to use as a replacement. i don't think it would be too difficult to implement this. at least i hope so.

another area hope to see in PDS2; that is restricted somewhat, is kick/kick return/punt/punt return/fg/fg return..i haven't tried this yet..but creating a fake fg or fake punt doesn't look like its possible from a punt or fg formation. only another formation that could be setup to make it appear as fg formation and then have that "configured" in the profiles. i can't see how to do a onside kick. thx

At this time, PDS 2.0 supports:

3 Running Backs,
2 Tight Ends,
DB and LB dropping back,
Assigning cover to receivers by a skill attribute (receiver speed ...),
Shading defenders under, over, and deep (this is new and is being tested)
Setting pattern logic to corner, post, or endzone for long passes,
Quarterback pass progressions.


At this time, the PDS does not have:

Offensive line gap split changes,
Unbalanced lines,
Option logic.

I had fake field goal and punt plays set up in PDS 1.0.  I don't believe PDS 2.0 would have a problem with it.  I'll try to get some fake kicking plays added to the default playbooks if I get a chance to test them and test counter plays for the return and kick blocking teams.

In non-arcade mode, it is difficult.  At the very least, one would have to bring in a weak leg to kick the ball.
