In Burma, at the time of the fall of Mytkivina, the whole garrison was under orders to withdraw to Lashio. The trail was wide open, however, when attacked by the Japs, the morons decide to withdraw along the railroad towards Mandalay
Now to see how the %$ck they get out of there

Allied high command is in turmoil (As has been since Dec 7th)
On one hand, Australians demand that Japanese be expelled from the north. USA public opinion demands a relevant victory. British public however is more sedate.
There is a real danger of autovictory here

Tag, Second string coming in.  Baby carrier force moving in to take over from the big brother.

Where did the American Battlewagens go?

Do not worry about the auto victory.  We can cross that bridge when we get there, if we get there.

Due to synchronization issues, no combat reports are available.
In Burma, allied forces have checked Japanese advance at Imphal. Latest allied assault netted 700 Japanese casualties at a cost of 500 allied. Not near enough to dislodge the yellow bugg$rs but at least it is osmething.
In the North Australia front, daily bombing of Darwing, with allied fighters putting up a stubborn, though ineffective defence.
Both Japanese carrier TF have joined up and are exiting the Noumea area through the North East.
