Yeah, I know. The same year The Patriot came out. I remember a lot of uproar from our British friends about taking credit for their accomplishments during WWII and nonexistent atrocities during our war of independence.

With apologies to our British friends, there were atrocicities on both sides during that 1775-1783 conflict.

I preferred the Patriot, but I have always been a fan of Colonel Francis Marion.... Swamp Fox, Swamp fox no one knows where the Swamp Fox is at. I watched Wonderful World of Disney growing up

Leslie Neilson was the Swamp Fox.

Is this useless information or what?

The Movie That Shall Not Be Named is superior to U-571 for one simple reason: it has Kate Beckinsale and U-571 does not.

Nik hasn't been here much lately, but i suspect it has been because he has been battling with GF Unit Mk I feline companion. The cat keeps changing the television from The History Channel to the World Cup - in Spanish, no less...

Problem being: there is no short, punchy alternative name for American Football, but there is for European Football.

Perhaps we of The Thread (in the interest of International Harmony) might figure out an acceptable alternative name. (for US football).
