AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 11/27/42

Of course, there is no retaliation go... we have to keep Andy in paranoia.

Usual stuff - i bomb him in China he bomb me in Burma.

Enemy unit shows in Perth! I guess the disembark unit(s) at the same place i was when i attacked Perth. But the difference he will found remains of the base force in the Perth . All other units are evacuated on time. Ok, i can be satisfied. I hold Perth and HI production for five and half months. Currently have 14 574 HI (and still expanding) which will decrease for 299 HI points.

The bad thing is enemy carriers are free to go in Indian ocean and i will have to watch out for them. Weak spots in my "Western defencive line" are Timor (120 AP) and Java (one brigade at the moment). In the month i will reinforce Java with one more bde and, if neccesary i would pull division from Singapore (3tk armoured divison will guard Singapore while waiting for replacements. One mix bde will remain in Malaya).

Australia is guarded with 5 divs, 2 bdes and one armoured division. Should be enough to keep enemy from the ground offensive. What concernes me most are the enemy carriers. I will keep my carriers in the Pacific and try engage enemy in decisive battle.

In short, defence of Timor/Java will depend on land based ac - but i'm guite a short with LBAs at the moment.

INDIA/BURMA

I ordered one more sub to enter Diamond Harbour hex. In addition, 3 naval LBA are ordered on naval attack /range 11/ with escort of two Zero daitais. I'm aiming for enemy transports at DH and hope that strike from Rangoon will be executed nice and coordinated.

AK Empire Raleigh reported sunk in DH and this gives me a consolation for lost DD in that area (so far Andy lost 5 AKs and one TK in DH waters).

Bettys strike on enemy fleet at Apamama and lost of the 7 crack pilots few days ago wasn't vainly (?) - DMS Long reported sunk. If only i could get the rest of these nasty DMS....

My sub at DH is hit but should make it to the Rangoon. Not a best turn for India/Burma theatre. I withderew my raiders to Amandan isl for refueling and Andy had to move his conwoy from DH (heading to India). Grrr... he is just so lucky... Felix....

Subs, of course, didn't attack his transports, and you are guessing right, Rangoon was closed so no attack on his fleet despite the fact that Bettys on naval search found enemy tranports...phew... Enemy airfields were open...bah...

Andy brought lots of capital ships in Perth area, including American BBs. Was he expected that i would defend Perth at any cost? I don't know and i have to be prepared for threating SRA/northern Australia from the Perth. He has mighty navy there and quite a lot LCUs so he could try something nasty...

Kido Butai regrouping at Shortland islands. Although i'm not sure that Andy will attack me in SRA this possibility shouldn't be eliminated. I will send KB deep in the enemy seas between Australia and Noumea and try to hunt something. Still i will have KB near all dangerous area and i can react quickly.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 30/11, 12/01 & 12/02/42

Not a much action - just regular air strikes in China and Burma. Andy refuses to listen Churchill and keeps CV and two DDs. His bad luck continues - Churchill asked for BB and two DDs in December. I guess he will listen to him now.

Major air activity in the Burma could mean that he is going to try something in Burma, but i have plans for defence.

Meanwhile KB divisions gathering in Coral sea and will look for the trouble deeper in enemy waters in next couple of days. If i only could sneak KB through Caledonia and OZ....

Hi Pauk! I love the idea of taking Perth. The city is isolated with a long march for allied troops to retake it by land. Base some planes there and you can make it hell against his TFs. I was planning on taking Perth myself in a PBEM I was playing with Scott1964 as Japanese but ended up bowing out of the game after taking most all of DEI. The games I was in were starting to interfere with other areas of my life so I discontinued everything for a short while.

Hi, i guess you didn't read all yet - i've evacuated Perth and Andy recapture it. Actually i've never planed to defend Perth because this base is so isolated. If only i had two more divisions the things would be different...

Anyway, glad to see you again, Gary!

Woops, didn't see that part. I was going to do the same thing, evacuate, just leave a token force behind. Base some Nells or Bettys there to harrass his TFs then fly them back when things got too hot. I figured if I could divert some forces from Eastern Australia it would open PM up a little for Scott.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/04/42

IJA AF proves to be deadly against enemy bombers. Andy makes same mistake twice and both times he got serious beating (first one was several weeks ago when he sent unescorted Wellies on raid, now he did it again

Day Air attack on Taung Gyi , at 33,32

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 9
Ki-44-IIb Tojo x 5
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 43

Allied aircraft
Wellington III x 45
B-25C Mitchell x 8

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-61 KAIc Tony: 16 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Wellington III: 42 destroyed
B-25C Mitchell: 8 destroyed

Runway hits 1

Aircraft Attacking:
1 x Wellington III bombing at 7000 feet

Only one bomber (from 60 sqdn) survived heavy LR CAP from Raehang to tell a story about dissaster in the Burma. 50th Sentai claims 31 kills (total kills 37), 9th Sentai is awarded with 18 kills (total 48 kills) while, Tojos shot down two enemy bombers.

I lost only 3 pilots in this engagement. Not a bad, not a bad...

Day Air attack on 1st Burma Rifles Brigade at Akyab. This was prelude to another try to recapture Akyab.

Japanese aircraft
G4M1 Betty x 42
Ki-49 Helen x 20

No Japanese losses

Allied ground losses:
106 casualties reported
Guns lost 2

But once again my paras were close, so close... agrrhh!

Ground combat at Akyab

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 2001 troops, 13 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 70

Defending force 1561 troops, 7 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 65

Japanese max assault: 60 - adjusted assault: 58

Allied max defense: 34 - adjusted defense: 47

Japanese assault odds: 1 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese Assault reduces fortifications to 0

Japanese ground losses:
65 casualties reported

Allied ground losses:
18 casualties reported

Oh well we can expect hundreds of enemy bombers tomorrow visiting my brave paras at Akyab. More and more i'm convinced that he will try something nasty in Burma but not sure what will he choose - one of first obvious targets is Mytkina or whatever it spells. There is nothing i can do about that - resisting 400 bombers with strong fighter escort would be suicide.

All i can do is sneaky ambush like today over Tang Gyui - and i'm not complaining.

I will put some pressure on Andy in China but it will take time till my units reach Yunan from Nanning. I also have plans for sending one bde (now it is located 60 miles north of Chungking towards Yunan) and advance from Kweiyang. But i have be patient for now.

that is best tactics i find in late 42/early 43
without P38 j enemy can't go freely far behind lines
even p-38 g are not guarantee of bombers safe return

good job

The problem is that you are doing the same what i'm planing to do and this is a warning to Andy. I also planing to skip february upgrade and wait for him...

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/06/42

CHINA

We reached one year playing for six months. Not much action last two days. Yesterday Andy send his heavies on Mandalay and i've decided to try another attack on Akyab.

In China i regulary bombing his AFs:

Day Air attack on Chungking , at 43,32

Japanese aircraft
G3M Nell x 9
Ki-21 Sally x 56
Ki-49 Helen x 46
Ki-46-II Dinah x 4

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-21 Sally: 1 damaged
Ki-49 Helen: 2 damaged

Allied ground losses:
218 casualties reported

Airbase hits 12
Runway hits 94

----------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Chengtu , at 41,29

Japanese aircraft
Ki-21 Sally x 66
Ki-46-II Dinah x 6

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-21 Sally: 1 destroyed, 1 damaged

Allied ground losses:
10 casualties reported

Airbase hits 2
Airbase supply hits 1
Runway hits 36

BURMA

Massive attack on Burma bde at Akyab. I thought my paras are going to win this time...

Day Air attack on 1st Burma Rifles Brigade, at 30,29

Japanese aircraft
G4M1 Betty x 44
Ki-21 Sally x 18
Ki-49 Helen x 19

No Japanese losses

Allied ground losses:
178 casualties reported
Guns lost 2

... but got similar results as first time.

Ground combat at Akyab

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 1845 troops, 12 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 61

Defending force 1250 troops, 3 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 55

Japanese max assault: 102 - adjusted assault: 18

Allied max defense: 29 - adjusted defense: 17

Japanese assault odds: 1 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese Assault reduces fortifications to 0

Japanese ground losses:
247 casualties reported
Guns lost 2

Allied ground losses:
21 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

One enemy unit shows 60 miles from Myitkina. He certainly want to do something in Burma - but i'm ready, me thinks. Mandalay, Rangoon, Moulmein, Tavoy - they are all lvl 9.

Rahaeng is AF 4 and i'm building AF to level fort in base just north of Bangkok. If Andy tries amphibious invasion in my backyard (Moulmein, Tavoy) i will be able to send crack Army bombers on his invasion fleet and trow his troops into ocean.

PACIFIC

KB is now deep into east Australian waters. I'm using T-storms to sails even deeper in enemy waters but no sign of enemy yet....

Hi Pauk,
do you know what forces he has/could have now in Perth?
Maybe you could conquer the crossroad, block the railway to Perth and send some nlf down the rail to check the situation there? At least it would make him nervous if you are trying to retake Perth.. And maybe you could really give it a try?
You would need 3 armies:
1.defending Darwin - the army you have defeated near Darwin will be out of action for while..
2.defending "Perth crossroad"
3.conquering Perth

He will have there his bombers for sure, but if you will put some LCU with AV above other ones, it could suck all his bomber raids..
I don´t know what forces you have availible in northern Darwin-Broome region.
Do you have some glen-equiped subs near Perth to check if his carriers are still there? If he already pulled them back you could send a bombardment TF.
Because you would send all your forces by rail, you can always fall back as long as you will hold the crossroad.
It is maybe you last chance for counterofensive there. After killing his troops (as he has nowhere to fall back) you can again leave Perth undefended.

Hi Jumper and congrats to Czechs victory in WC!

he has more than enough troops to keep Perth defended until he send reinforcements to Perth crossroad. But your idea is certainly good one.

Unfortunatly he is not stupid and keeps 3 tk regiments 3 hexes east of P crossroads, which means i'm not able to ambush him and throw towards Perth.

My estimation is that he have same army which advanced towards Perth (IIRC there was report in AAR earlier) so i can't assault him right now. I'm moving one division and tk division towards Derby (Darwin will be defended strongly with 3 divs) and will see what we can do it there. But i'm not expecting much because Andy learn how Japanese soldiers brave are (Yoda voice) and he would retreat them towards Perth.

But i'm certainly waiting for his mistake in Australia. However main goal remains - protecting Independent state of Aborigians (5 divs, 2 bdes, couple of tk rtgs and one understrenghtened tk div)

EDIT: My glenn equipped subs are decimated due "chutai size bug" - max size is 0 and i can not place glenn an the pilot on the subs. It will be fixed in next patch but Japanese radar will remain broken (it is not on the fix list) - why i don't know....

Thank you. Unfortunately one of our best players was hurt and will be out of the game for while
But 3 goals against USA is sweet victory. They were too confident - suffering from "superman syndrome" I would say
I wish your luck today. You will need it It could be nice match with Brasil - no shame to loose with them

"chutai size bug" - - you have lost your "eyes"! Those subs are one of the most useful units in the game IMO. I love them. Hardly ever using them for attack missions...

OK, 0:1 is not bad for Croatia. Not a nice game on Brazilian side..

i'm back from the trip and played two more turns but nothing worth to report. KB is now 8 9 hexes east from Noumea and waiting in ambush. Few ships reported at port so no big hunt is expected (i'm waiting till tomorrow and if KB won't be spoted i will visit Noumea). Lets hope for the best.

Didn't lost all glenns, Jumper, but some of them are lost till next patch....

well, 0-1 against Brasil is not bad - if you aren't Croat! We allmost had them...

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/10/42

Andy is serious - he took Mytkina (or whatever) in Burma with paras and immediately airlifted BF i guess. My two tk rtgs arriving at M. tomorrow but i don't hope for much.

Stalemate at Akyab and i have to wait my units recuperate. Will he allow me that or i would need organise reverse Dunkirk?

This is a start of big offensive in Burma, i'm sure. Last turn all his bombers were stood down - i can expect storm over Burma tomorrow... I done everything i could to fortify there, lets hope it will be enough

PACIFIC

Unfortunatly, KB was spoted and i withdraw my mobile strike force away. There is no need to warn Andy about the whole KB location

Have to come in here and meditate Pauk
I wish back to the good old days in 42 and 43...!

Looks like you got things well in hand, but Andy will push hard and he's learning new methods
quickly in our game. You will have to deal with his newly gained experience in a short time.

Dig in in Burma, I've seen games were the Allies break into Malaya, and it ain't a pretty sight.
Which version are you using, 1.801?

Yeah, we could arrange a little meditation evening here. I'm almost getting sick from the expecting his offensive, he promised me "wait for P-38" but nothing happends. I'm afraid that he will wait untill his ac groups are upgraded to the Hellcats and rest of his toys arrives. In that case i will be overhelmed, no matter what i will do (Pauk-san says: there is no honor in that kind of victory).

Regarding Burma, i already see that Andy using new methods learned from yours game. He captured Myitkina with paras, then he airlifted 5 LCU quickly in the base and this will be a model of his future invasions. I'm not big fan of the "great air-bridge war in the Pacific" but i'm not complaining - nothing wrong and gamey with that.

Burma will be defended at any cost, currently i have 5 divisions there (Imperial, 3th, 9th, 33th, 55th) 5 tk rtg, mix bde, mix rtg and couple of smaller units. I'm ready for him - all bases are fortified to the max level and don't think he can suprise me.

3rd Tk Div (34% of TOE) guarding Singapore, while 38th division and 23rd Mix bde helping building forts at Johore Baru and Georgetown.

Actually i think i know what he will do - attack Mandalay and force me to send bulk of my army to the base (he moved indian div and some units rescued from DEI to Myitkina) and then land in my backyard (Tavoy, Moulmein). I'm ready for that solution too but the question is - can my LCU holds off against his 4E hordes?

I'm using 1.801 but i can not say that things were improved. Still having chutais on glenns with max size 0, supply is not flowing smoothly where it needed....

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

And finally i have a rant for you guys. Remember my fears that with new ASW routine Jap ASW will become useless no matter what i do? now sit down and enjoy. Here is what Jap intelligence caught in the eter near Cebu.

"we are camping, we are camping
we can hapily camping in the port,

Thanks to Ron, we are invisible guys,
thanks to Ron, we are using Klingon
clocking device... (lalalalala)

we are camping, we are camping and
we can do it until the end of the war
no one can do nothing, cause Ron asked
for it... (lalalala)"

Since i'm on 1.8 my ASW attacked enemy subs only once without success. Allied ASW was very efficient, in return (couple of I-boots were seriously damaged from the air). It seems to me that chances of survival for the Jap boats increased by 50 % while Allied boats chances are boosted with 90 %.

It seems that Andy was really scared about automatic victory.

quote:

Andy:
I am still sitting waiting with bated breath for your next attack I figure
you have time for one more major offensive before the tide turns then I will
be back !!!!

I guess you CV's could have been getting ready for it earlier

I do think I am in pretty good shape at present and well ahead of historical
schedule but 43 is going to be a lot of fun

That means his naval boats recognise KB, which is on their route to Truk. Yeah, 1943 is going to be fun - for him. I have two choices. Engage enemy before Allies get CAP bonus in "the mother of all battles". By this time i will get Taiho and two Unryus and i think there is chance to win this battle if he tries to enter to my "box defensive line".

The other choice is hide KB and keep it safe and use it only as threat... both choices have some advantages but lots of disadvantages....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/13/42

CHINA

Nothing new there. I'm bombing Chungking, Chengtu, Yunan and Kunming to keep these AF closed. I will have to be careful when Andy expand Myitkina cause he can use this base for LR CAP over Chinese AFs. Kweiyang is expanded to AF 8 and will be base for my training program.

My units still are on march towards Yunan (from Naning) and it will take at least a month till they came one hex south of Yunan. I have one more choice - sending couple of divisions (based at Chungking-Chengtu road) east towards Yunan and Kumning but i have to be patient with that - good coordination and execution is a must.

Day Air attack on Chungking , at 43,32

Japanese aircraft
G3M Nell x 9
Ki-44-IIb Tojo x 18
Ki-21 Sally x 89
Ki-49 Helen x 52
Ki-46-II Dinah x 5

Ki-46-II Dinah: 1 damaged

Allied ground losses:
318 casualties reported

Airbase hits 5
Airbase supply hits 8
Runway hits 155

at 8000 feet

China becomes main training camp for my AF. I have two locations - all encircled enemy units (one is 60 miles from Sian, second is 120 miles from Changsha and Ichang) but the time will come when i will have to use Kweiyang for training camp.

BURMA

I'm showing CR just to show you with what force i will be faced in Mandalay soon. And, i don't want to depress you PzB but it seems that his strikes don't suffer exactly penalties for overstacking as your strikes:(. More than 600 ac at Ledo reported (lvl 5 AF). Damn, that is just not fair!!!

Day Air attack on 10th Tank Regiment, at 36,28 - from Ledo

Akyab falls in my greedy hands. However it seems that Andy evacuated majority of the troops from there.

Day Air attack on 1st Burma Rifles Brigade, at 30,29

Japanese aircraft
G4M1 Betty x 48
Ki-21 Sally x 24
Ki-49 Helen x 23

But rest of the troops are now on trail north of Akyab and will require subs for evacuation. Good, as long as he using subs for evacuation i can run my conwoys unprotected...

You know that if it becomes dangerous to train air units in China you should withdraw your
bombers and train them by moving supplies between two bases Pauk!

Overstacking is a double edged sword: you never know when the pentalty kicks in and cause
havoc....

you need to retake Mytikina
it is too early to have burma road reopen
it is no diffrence if you will be bombed there or in other base
i fear a lot about burma theater - there were too many games where allied made miracles in Burma in 43

there is no good defensive idea for Burma but you need to find sth

but i still control trail to Yunan.... and if everything goes as i planed Yunan will be in my hands in few months.

IMHO Mytkina is really to close to the enemy bases. We all know that Burma is screwed but we have to live with that....that's why i choosed Mandalay for main defensive line.....

As for supply training, i'm really not a big fan of it... but i still have air superiority in the China and can easily train my LBAs

i think game only checks who control entry and exit point of burma road
but you need to ask sb with higher knowledge

i think i asked and got the answer - > Burma road is open only when all hexes are allied controled.

Anyway, here is screenshot of my future operations in China. The key is to keep Kumning and Yunan AFs closed that Andy can't reinforce those bases. My guess is he will withdraw to Yunan when he notice that i approaching from the north. He can't defend two bases at the same time i think. The truth is i don't have owerhelming force there but i hope that Chinese are starved and therefore not a match for my brave soldiers.

Didn't have intention to start Konichiwa go that early, but i have to do it now since Andy will try to re-open Burma road.

Still quiet. Had a discussion with Andy - he was suprised i'm not going for auto victory. I've replied to him i was never interested in that and want to keep my forces intact. I told him that i hope he wont wait for late 43 for offensive.

He replied that he wont do anything until he got Hellcats and he waits for Corsairs. Which would, probably, make this game dull and quick unless he commits a big mistake.

Meanwhile i'm preparing my AF for upcoming Allied offensive and train everything i can:

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/14/42

CHINA - usual stuff, Chinese AFs bombed from the air.

BURMA - another attack on my tk regiments near Myitkina.

AUSTRALIA

Ground combat at 12,93 - my tank regiments arrives at crossroad. One more shock attack ordered but they will remain in the hex. I don't want to get them cut off from the Derby. Anyway, enemy tk units will be out of action for couple of months.

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 4545 troops, 6 guns, 284 vehicles, Assault Value = 153

Defending force 790 troops, 0 guns, 45 vehicles, Assault Value = 14

Japanese max assault: 274 - adjusted assault: 262

Allied max defense: 9 - adjusted defense: 1

Japanese assault odds: 262 to 1

Japanese ground losses:
7 casualties reported
Vehicles lost 1

Allied ground losses:
377 casualties reported
Vehicles lost 23

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

IMPERIAL HQ NEWS SHEET

Two Lily sentais arrives at Home islands. I will use them in China but can't upgrade both of them to Sallys and Helens (i'm producing them about 100 ac together per month and quite a low on them).

I stopped several RO class subs and accelerated transport subs. I will need their big capacity for evacuating (Australia, Pacific. They should arrive in next 9 months - all four of them.

Musashi will arrive in app 50 days and that will relase 185 navalshipyard points. Tahio will join her in two months. If i manage to stock NS points i will consider accelerating some DDs - Japan had never enough of them...

Jack is moved by another month and will start producing in January 43.

Supply situation is not brilliant - dropped to 2 730 000 because i'm expanding my industry. But i'm keeping an eye on that and think will be ok.

Hi Ursa,

You got it right. I managed to speed up production by investing in research (rd) - i have just bellow 400 rd points for Jack.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/15/42

My fears about new ASW routine came true. I send minelaying TF to Suva and two of five subs are lost! One of my precious minelaying sub is lost and now i'm down to two subs of this types.

ASW attack near Suva at 86,114

Japanese Ships
SS I-23, hits 3, on fire

Allied Ships
DD Bancroft
DD Bailey
DD Woodworth

------------------------------------
ASW attack near Suva at 86,114

Japanese Ships
SS I-23, hits 3, on fire

Allied Ships
DD Bagley
DD Morris
DD Walke

I-23 is now on 67 float damage and i can say goodby to her.

The sad thing is Mitchell dropped one bomb on I-121 and she immediately sunk. Phew! I can assign multi ASW TFs, lots of crack bombers to the ASW but i cant even locate enemy subs in the port hex. On the other hand, Allies sunk 40% of my subs in one turn in similar situation.

Of course this could be only my impression, but dead crew from two subs don't think so...

Here is one CR which have not anything with truth (all these ships are in several different locations) - annoying but not serious bug...

Last shock attack on armoured enemy units. We will stay on Perth-Derby crossroad. Andy told me that he is not worried about northern Australia in my hands and he can eventually take from me latter in the game via railroad. Hah, did he really mean that i'm so naive? I bet he will try cut my troops with Navy in late 1943 and then crush me....

Ground combat at 12,94

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 4555 troops, 6 guns, 285 vehicles, Assault Value = 154

Defending force 220 troops, 0 guns, 11 vehicles, Assault Value = 2

Japanese max assault: 276 - adjusted assault: 206

Allied max defense: 0 - adjusted defense: 1

Japanese assault odds: 206 to 1

Allied ground losses:
112 casualties reported
Vehicles lost 4

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

One more bug - ghost unit holds off against Chinese unit. Andy send Chinese to clear Burma road but he found "Ghost samurais" one hex north of Yunan (they aren't visible on map and i can not access to ghost unit)

Ground combat at 37,31

Allied Shock attack

Attacking force 1092 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 33

Defending force 935 troops, 7 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 0

Allied max assault: 30 - adjusted assault: 7

Japanese max defense: 16 - adjusted defense: 13

Allied assault odds: 0 to 1

If you think that was all, well i must dissapoint you. I'm unable to pick my troops from Akyab so this was really unpleasent turn. What makes me nervous is this last bug cause i'm afraid i will be unable to evacuate troops in more important situations - and this will be a game killer...

Still quiet so there is no need to post CRs for couple of days. Only news worth to be mentioned is sinking of TK Santa Maria (previously damaged from type 88 mine at Palmyira) and - Andy's offensive in Burma/China where he trying to reopen Burma road. He attacking my ghost unit on the road but it will take a time until he clears a path from Myitkina to Yunan....

Hmm well.

First japanese ASW weapons suck in this game until they get type 2(?) and 4(?) and ASW mortars. Allied ASW weapons do not suck hence the results. B-25 drops a 500lb bomb on sub, glugg, glugg. Sally drops a 250kg bomb on sub, damage. Not much to do about it.

Second cool aircombat TF .

Third Akayab. Pick up with what? Naval or LBA transports? You need a baseforce in Akayab to use your LBA transports for pick up.

Do try to force a carrier battle on your terms (in range of your LBA) or pray that he conducts an invasion before he gets F6F and to many CV, mega KB will slaughter the allied fleet. How does it look in the Luganville - Efate - Noumea axis? If he does not want to fight maybe you could secure this area early -43? He must have huge assets tied down in and around Tarawa for fear of a counterattack.

Get those Jacks up an running ASAP, they eat P-38 for lunch with crack pilots in the cockpit. Four 20mm canons !

Keep the presure up, I am truly adicted to this AAR.

jacks are difinetly best solution
there always be a need of long range escort so not all navy planes can be converted but as base defender they are best
1943 close
i think that unless you show weakness within marshalls there will be little action there - he must be aware that you reinforced area - every player must in such situation.
question which other theater will be good to provoke enemy to decisive battle
OZ area - low probability and little space - too much LBA on both sides
Salomons  - looks good but it is difficult to put really strong pressure there
maybe gilberts rear areas - not best with gilberts off but...
i don't remebrer if baker is yours or allied as well as canton - if you still have baker you can try to use it
how about your mobile reserves - how many troops can you use without weakening perimeter ?

hm .....
From what I found in Andy's game vs PZB and our short Iron storm episode he is methodical player and no unneeded risk will be taken
will be difficult to press him - or maybe even impossible
he is ahead of schedule in CEN PAC and this makes his position comfortable- no more risk is needed
i think he will increase pressure in Northern OZ and within 6-8 months he doesn't have any big need to use fleet
i guess some support from heavy ships maybe used in final stages of Northern Oz operation but no sooner
he will build up caledonia and ready up to jump through salomons / i assume gilberts are safe for him /
he knows well you need to go for decisive battle within next 6 months and certainly it will be difficult to force him to it especially it is you who starts to be under pressure

maybe running behind gilberts on his LOC would result positivly - maybe on his routes to NZ /Nomuea ? i don't know
there is always chance you will catch him during transit
it needs to be done in slightly chaotic pattern - diffrent home bases , areas of operations
not a big chance i know but ....
