Kenny did just this. I was suprized to see that the Rangoon Force and it's BF were there. I thought that they were the units I had trapped between Mitchnya and Ledo.

ABDA a/c may have flown to here and been carried out by AKs later. My a/c can't spot a damb thing let alone attack it.

At least when the India invasion comes, (if it comes) will be a bit more of a suprize.

I just found out by "accident" that "motorized support" found in armored units act like "engineer vehicles" when it comes to building forts/ports/airfields. I had left the three British armored units that start the game in Karachi with port expand "on" to fill out their TOE (Only place besides Calcutta that has over 20K supply to do so) and after 4 days it had gone up a port size (7) and had 16% towards the next.

Add these units with some BF's and "Fortress India" will be built very quickly.

I now have a new use for them early in the war...everywhere!!

Where did you guys find the basis for these maps?

thank you Roger. I got the pictures online from various website's using google images search. Usually the maps had a lot of crap on them like names of cities/oceans/roads/mountains ect. So what i would do was trace the outline of the coast, then just fill in the ocean with 1 color, and fill in the land with another color, and wham! i had myself a blank map to work with. The rest is elementry

Niceguy:

This is Kenny's post at the top of page 2. Unfortunetly he is too busy to do them now.

The Dutch are tough.

they aren't all dutch

something is afoot near Signapore, as all the land units there have mysteriously disappeared. Could this be the India invasion force...or just reinforcements to finish off the dutch.

KD,
Do you know where his Para Rgt are??
Don't want them dropping in behind the front lines in India and then transporting in a BF or more troops.

good question. If been trying to keep track of his para units, and i believe about 50% of them are stuck in jungles in Burma. Nevertheless i'm fully aware of their danger. Luckly my Indian BF's are getting a decent amount of indian rilfe squads, so they will be less vulnerable to paradrops. Plus i have roving armor units to dispatch any para troops quickly. Also...my B17's will make short work of any AF that is captured by para's rending the base usless for incoming reinforcements.

in a deceptive move, i believe Tom intends to invade NW-Oz not India....reason for this is as follows.

1-ground campaign through the Burmese jungle is a distraction to keep my attention focused on India
2-tom is deliberately talking about invading india inorder to hide his true attentions
3-no subs are operating near India, while many are operating near NW-Oz
4-more of toms forces are located near NW-Oz than India
5-won't have to deal with B17's
6-toms indiscriminate bombing of sheep (PETA has been notified)
7-its just plain easier to take 4 bases instead of 30
8-i'm just paranoid
9-he's doing it for the Beer
10-toms doesn't like spicey food

I'm find out in my PBEM's that B-17's that have high morale and decent experience levels come out very well against the Zero's, even with the bonus.   I'm allowing mine to rest until their morale gets to 99 and then setting on "supply transport" over their home base to raise their experience levels. Those 48 plane groups are not nice to face.

It's interesting that I mentioned those Para Rgt before this happened. I read about their use extensively in Nemo's AAR.

Finally knocked out Seorobaja. Upon it's surrender I found that the 18th UK Division was one of the defenders. Hopefully this will make India easier since about 20K troops got diverted from the planned invasion of India to deal with Java.

Burma continues to be a stalemate while the Indian offensive is just getting off the beach. Stagnant on other fronts. Sian is now the focus in China.

Sian is taken after a month of seige. 22 starving Chinese units surrender yet only yeild 700 VPs. They trashed the base before surrendering so I will have a supply shortage for a while. Don't know if I have enough for a drive on Chungking yet since there are still strong formations in the South and on the road to Chungking.

India continues to be a mess. Landing at Yenam avoided CD guns and is out of range of all but 4E bombers but the road net is terrible. My troops are taking forever to get off the beach and in the mean time my paras are getting kicked around.

It took 3 weeks of planning and waiting for the right weather but a small surface TF was able to sneak into Midway undetected and sink some of the MSWs that keep harrasing my subs and clearing the mines they leave.

Aside from this the fronts are stabilizing and the pace is slowing down. Japan is nearing it's maximum expansion.

So far Kenny has gone "Sir Robin" on me so his fleet is intact. He has made me pay with mines, LBA, and surface actions but has not lost many ships in the process.

Aside from the land war in India and China there are few places I can go without incurring the wrath of 4E bombers and the fleet. DEI, PI, and Solomons are mine.

Oz is an option but I have heard bad things from those who have tried. Noeuma would be a knock out blow to the Allies but it could also be my downfall due to the distance.

So, I may be reduced to the type of raid I did at Midway to score some points.

What about going towards Noumea and then over to Suva??  New Calendonia is undefendable once a base like Louganville is taken as you can use LBA along with KB to push him out. As an Allied player, Noumea is nice, but not necessary.
You still have KB intact and the Allied player cannot go against it with a good chance of success until '43. If the USA to Oz/Nz supply line remains intact, then your defeat will be that much sooner.

Noeuma is worth close to 2000 points to the Allies once it is maxed. Since the score is currently 18k to 5k it would nearly double the VP margin.

Lunga is built up so I can control the sea lanes but would need the KB to neutralize the base. Recon shows he has several units there so I am assuming that he has 1-2 Us division and a few NZ brigades in place. In retrospect I should have made a dash for here in January instead of PM.

I am sure that there would be a bloody battle for the base. The 6 Allied CVs plus LBA could stop the KB. Might be better to just build up what I have and make him come to me.

wouldn't call me defense a true Sir Robin, as i did move the UK 18th Inf Div to Java, moved burma units to Andaman Is, took Marcus Is in raid, and still hold Koepang with several non-Dutch units. Yes my fleet has been inactive throughout the most part, but its only March of 42'...still plenty of time to play
