Well, i only had one more LCU formation and 5 fighter planes disappear without a trace (not reported destroyed, just vanished)... a good turn!

Hey. I,m Back! Did you guys even notice I was gone? The cable was out for 8 hours. I have gotten to Dec 25. I now list 3 IJN merchies sunk correction 4.

Question I have been moving DEI oil, resources and fuel to Darwin and Darby. Is this the right thing to do?

The Swami says H#ll Yeah! Actually, it should be sent to Perth, Melbourne and Darwin to fuel the heavy industry there. First priority is to ship it someplace the Japs can't get it. Second priority is to get it to your heavy industry centers.

Good I am doing that. It's all going to Darwin. I am also slowly moving the US units I got out of the Phillipines south. Is this a good idea. I evaced Jolo. I thought those units would be wasted there. I have also moved the fighters to Borneo and the B17s to Darwin.

It all depends on the type of strategy you're comfortable with. I prefer the fighting withdrawl strategy so I pull very few units out of anywhere. I do use a lot of political points to mobilize Dutch forces and reposition them to better defensive positions. They have some strong garrison units in out of the way places. I tend to keep my air assets as far forward as possible IF I have supply and replacement planes available. When I do pull planes out of the PI I fly a lot of them overland through China and use them in India and China. The Allies do have enough force at the start of the game to really be a pain in the butt to Japan, so I would recommend not pulling back too far too fast.

Where is Jolo?

Also, while I do ship oil and resources out of the DEI, I don't make it my central priority. My first priority is to defend to the best of my ability the area with the ABDA command, that includes the US cruisers and destroyers in the area. Not to do so would seem gamey to me, just as using all my cargo ships to strip the area of resources would.

There was a SERIOUS amount of oil left at Palembang when it fell. I bet my opponent was doing a happy dance at his computer when he saw the size of the "loot" he captured there.

I just thought those griund units in Jolo were going to get wasted. My P40 units are receiving replacements in Borneo and I think tey have kept the Betties away from Tarakan.

Problem with hauling stuff to Darwin is that it NEVER gets moved - it just sits there (despite rules that say it is supposed to move...) thus it does the Aussie economy no good. It denies them to the IJN though, unless it goes and takes Darwin.
