Do polar bears even know what penguins are? Suppose you saw a penguin for the first time....what would you think it was considering the limited animal population in the Arctic?

A seal in a tux?
A naked arctic fox?
A Martian?

Interesting thought..... I wonder how many sub periscopes had a repair requisition submitted for "teeth marks".

Which is what they do. That, and the fact that they don't fear humans, is the reason that polar bears are so damn dangerous.

Speaking of dangerous animals, what would you guess would be the most dangerous large animal in Africa?

Yep. Amazing to think, when you look at the big, fat smelly things, but they can do amazing bursts of speed, especially in the water, they've got teeth like fenceposts, and they're not afraid of humans either.

I went into the hippo house in Berlin Zoo once. Their splatter attack is nothing compared to their smell attack; I had to deactivate my nose immediately.

But their smell attack requires a minimum of effort. They just sit there, stinking...

Well, the times i have seen them, they were outdoors, and the stench was not so noticeable, but i could see how enclosing them could produce a problem.

Clearly most animals do not have the same "bad odor" gene as we humans. My cats find nothing stinky about litterboxes, shoes, etc, and in fact, love to sleep with their heads stuffed into shoes.....ideally recently removed ones.

Then, to add insult to insanity, they recoil at the wonderful aroma of a fine wine.

Did your weekend meet your "cracking good mood" expectations?

Mine was fine other than my TV dying. Only once every four years is there any sport worth watching in the summertime and what happens?

Well, first some jerk will spoil the ending of a taped game, then secret anti-sport technicians will sabotage your TV set!! It's all part of the vast anti-sport conspiracy, i tells ya! The Proof of this is the gradual disappearance of all sports from US television that we have seen!!

Well, i only had one more LCU formation and 5 fighter planes disappear without a trace (not reported destroyed, just vanished)... a good turn!

Prayer and offerings to the Thread. I'm off to do another turn of smiting the evil Japanese empire.

Should I be moving oil resources and fuel from the DEI to Darwin or is this a bad thing o Swami. I need clarification.

The Swami says H#ll Yeah! Actually, it should be sent to Perth, Melbourne and Darwin to fuel the heavy industry there. First priority is to ship it someplace the Japs can't get it. Second priority is to get it to your heavy industry centers.

No no no no! Don't waste your time. The Japanese player will just sink them enroute and you'll just have an environmental mess on your hands. Leave the stuff there.

Also, while I do ship oil and resources out of the DEI, I don't make it my central priority. My first priority is to defend to the best of my ability the area with the ABDA command, that includes the US cruisers and destroyers in the area. Not to do so would seem gamey to me, just as using all my cargo ships to strip the area of resources would.

There was a SERIOUS amount of oil left at Palembang when it fell. I bet my opponent was doing a happy dance at his computer when he saw the size of the "loot" he captured there.

I had some 2-300k oil points when I took Palembang. Yipee!

Try a banana sometime. Whenever someone starts eating something, our cats come out of the woodwork to see what goodies are available. Whenever someone has a banana, they always let the cats sniff it. The face our cats make is absolutely hysterical.....and they never learn either.

i don't think they are, but i haven't specifically checked turn to turn. i am going to have to check some other units being uncrated and see if they are also vanishing.

Mynok says his flying saucers are responsible...

Believe it or not, we actually had a cat that liked banana....and baked beans. Since I play the role of ScooperMan, I can assure you it is a combination with galactic consequences.
