I have a friend who occasionally has bad days. He says it's helpful for him to imagine lighting people on fire.

i'm not exactly sure what just happened - more like the contract was hijacked. i thought the meeting was to tell us what is going on. The only thing that happened was a lot of self-satisfied gloating from the hijackers with a lot of inappropriate laughter thrown in.

The old lesson relearned: if you prove yourself able to do a job ONCE, you'll be stuck with it for ever. Especially applies to non-private institutions...

And even more so to interpersonal relationships........

I learned a long time ago to screw up any task my wife gives me. Eventually she will get fed up and just do it herself and leave me alone to play on the computer. Feigned incompetence can be a real life saver!

Now you tell me.

If I saw anything more threatening than a deer or bunny in my backyard I would be packing my bags.

Where is this little peice o' heaven you call home? I am deathly afraid of snakes so I want to make sure I never go there.

I'll stay here in Jersey with the gangs, pollution, and corruption.

Well, i dunno, i figure poisonous snakes, nasty insects, and wild coyotes and bobcats are less threatening and annoying than the usual neighbors i've had in the past... i will admit every once in a while it DOES give me pause.

The town i'm in is called Copper Canyon - not terribly large, so it is not on most maps. It's about 20 miles N of Dallas.

Nope, not on the map here at work. I hope you never have a natural disaster and need the Guard. Ohio will never find you.

I had something interesting happen in my turn yesterday (say it isn't so!). My opponent attacked Rabaul with some bombers. Here was the result:

Day Air attack on Rabaul , at 62,90

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 77
A6M3 Zero x 48

Allied aircraft
Hudson I x 36
F-5A Lightning x 7
B-17E Fortress x 48
LB-30 Liberator x 48
B-24D Liberator x 50

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 6 destroyed, 33 damaged
A6M3 Zero: 8 destroyed, 22 damaged
G3M Nell: 4 destroyed
G4M1 Betty: 2 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
Hudson I: 31 destroyed
F-5A Lightning: 5 damaged
B-17E Fortress: 17 destroyed, 14 damaged
LB-30 Liberator: 10 destroyed, 12 damaged
B-24D Liberator: 16 destroyed, 18 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
78 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

Airbase hits 2
Airbase supply hits 1
Runway hits 10

Aircraft Attacking:
2 x B-24D Liberator bombing at 6000 feet
10 x B-17E Fortress bombing at 8000 feet
2 x B-24D Liberator bombing at 6000 feet

My fighters were superb. Their avg experienc was about 83 and I lost less than a dozen. Here's the weird part. There were also 36 Hudsons in the attack (of which 33 went down in flames). They never showed up here but do show up as having been shot down in the intel screen.

Anyone ever see this?

Edit: Uhhhh, I'm blind. Ignore everything except my gloating about how wonderful my pilots are......

I need sleep.

So an Englishman, a Dane and a Bunny walk into a bar...

...having an obvious argument. Half an hour passes with them sitting at the bar yelling weird things at each other about "zero bonus" and "deathstars". Finally, the bartender says, "you three are the weirdest group I've ever seen, and I've been doing this job for 20 years". The Englishman laughs, the Dane gives him the finger and the Bunny says, "ha, you should meet the penguin, he's the really dangerous one".
