He cooled off considerably after that start. I believe I called him up right after the All Star break. He ended up hitting .337 with 15 HRs 37 RBIs. He's begun this season struggling quite badly, but is improving a lot. I'm in mid July now and he's sitting at .261 with 8 HRs and 26 RBIs, but he's really been picking it up lately. April - .224 1 HR May - .259 3 HR June - .273 0 HR July - .375 4 HR Maybe he's just a second half guy. It doesn't matter since his poor start was more than made up for by two rookies that came up this season. 1B Brian Ellerbee - .291, 21 HRs, 67 RBIs, 14 SB, .997 fielding % SS Donald Hornsby - .296, 10 HRs, 48 RBIs, 5 SB, .986 fielding % I really needed rookies to step up this year since I ran hard up against the salary cap this past offseason. Since I wanted to keep my pitching staff together, I ended up losing 2/3 of my outfield, my starting C, 1B, and SS. Those guys combined for 119 HRs and 468 RBIs last season. So far this year I'm sitting 1st in runs against, and 7th in runs for. I'm trying really hard to keep close to the lead, and it doesn't help that my closer who's had 3 straight 50+ save seasons is down for at least another 2-3 months. It's been an interesting year.
