One slightly-above-average reliever, one average-at-best reliever, and Royce Clayton!, for Austin Kearns and Felipe Lopez, among others??? Shaun, please make fixing the trading AI your number 1 priority. The AI is completely unrealistic and ridiculous! Please fix this ASAP, as I can no longer continue with my league with the trading AI in this state.

Thanks.

The more I think abut it, the more I think that starting pitching is UNDERvalued, as the endurance rating SHOULD be considered.  This really throws off conditions in the "pre-closer" era.

Now, on the plus side, the distribution of saves is much better represented now.

However, the issue of trade values seems to dominate discussion these days.

The issue of endurance matters even more, IMHO, with the relatively small numbers of complete games thrown by pre-1960 pitchers.   Maybe it isn't their values, per se, but the tendency of AI managers to pull starters too early.

I agree with this as I tried to run a few 1901+ sims and ran in to this problem which is a deal breaker for me. Hoping this can be fixed soon. The initial post was just a joke, btw.

Try the trading fix I put up today.  That makes starters more valuable.

Are you running v1.19?  I know that is supposed to take the desired number of relievers on a team down somewhat.

Did anyone get the sarcasm here?

I thought it was funny because that was exactly the first thing I thought about when I heard about the deal this afternoon: "That sounds like a pre-beta patch Puresim trade!"  I know Bray is highly regarded, but I think the Reds paid way too much.  Kearns, Lopez...and they had to include Wagner, too?  The Nats will probably move Soriano shortly I guess and watch out in 2008.

As a Phillies fan I'm a bit concerned about our future in the NL East with the Marlins and Nationals.

XCom, thanks for getting the sarcasm. I am a Philly phan too and it just sucks that Gillick is sitting idly while the Stros, Nats, Reds, et. al. are doing things to try and improve. I guess the Rangers no longer have anything to trade to us... [that was sarcasm again...]

To all others, I am using 1.19b, so don't worry about that.

Sitting Duck, your work with fixing the XML to get players be more accurately valued is amazing. Thanks!

First thing I thought of when I heard the trade too. The thing is.......people here in cincy are going nuts over the trade, but the way I look at it, we gave up 2 things that are replaceable from within, and we got two good arms that we couldn't replace from within in the near future. So I understand Krivsky's thinking.
