I did a search, but didn't find anything, but I thought we had some posts on this

is this a bad command or what ?

it is a no brainer, if it is a bad count, the game won't do it, and if it is a running count, it will do it

while you, as the runner, would say, run on the first pitch, but if it is a Strike hold

I mean, before the first pitch is thrown, you dicide if you want to steal, and tell the player to steal, but you don't know if the count is going to be 3-0 or 0-2

plus you can sort of say the same thing for hit and run, a weak hitter on a 3-0 count, you may want to send the runner, as the batter should get a decent pitch to swing at, and if he he does not, the runner is safe, but the same batter, on a 0-2 count, you do not want to be running

which guess while I am asking and saying things

why does the battle always get a bad count, when the AI "wants" to pitch around the battle

I have never had a batter get a walk when the pitch around strat is used

(of course, I have not run any tests on these, just what I am seeing during my season, dierolls may change and all)

Yeah, I had the exact same questions for Shaun but haven't heard anything yet. I'd like to know what the risk/reward is for this choice...

Well not really related

but I wonder about some of the other rateings too

I got a guy in a trade, he has a 97 speed

he leads my team in getting throw out
he leads my team in hitting into DP's
he also gets thrown out more then most on SF from 3rd base

(last night, he got thrown out from left field on a 318 foot fly with a 38 arm)

oh well, let us know if you hear anything about pitch outs :)

I have wondered the answer to, I've thought a fair balance would be a slightly higher propensity to walk the batter, but I have no idea what it really is.

Well, you would think it would be, but, it just generates a pitch count, and decides what should happen on that pitch

The pitchout increases the chance for a walk, and if called on the correct pitch (which the AI will determine) then it impacts the chance of a CS. This is as much as I will reveal :)

Shaun, I continue to note that while successful steals are usually within spec league-wide (historically), caught stealing is usually 50% below normal.  Just wanted to post that.

Hmmm... Still seems like a no-brainer to choose Pitchout whenever you have a fast runner on first. I've removed many more fast runners from the basepaths than I've walked.
