as the spring turn movement phase wraps up the germans are looking good. I plan on moving to attack Yugo right away and lets see what the wallies do in Cairo as its looking empty right now and maybe an easy target?

Japan spring 40

with the 3 new bombers I managed to damage two factories. all other supply expenditures are postponed and Japan continues to build subs and put the maximuim one point into subs/fighters and cag evasion.

Germany summer 40

This shows the start of summer 40, I will move armor and my para unit into North Africa and a few units to Austria to attack yugo in the fall and continue to assault transports off the european coastline.

notice the partisans in poland, that increases by one each turn I dont attack Russia so I'll need to keep funneling militia in there for a few more turns

My attacks on transports goes well, 4 of 5 attacks were a success with one kill and 3 damages. I see Britian has shored up defense in N. Africa and you'll see in the next turn that they move even more units in try and thwart my attempt at capturing the suez.

Japan summer 40

Japanese bombers strike at the other two Chinese factories. I damage Sinkiang but come away with only the fighter kill in the capital, the last Chinese factory still sits there undamaged.

At turns end the subs are launched and the rest of the Japanese production goes into supply and tech research. I'll need to build a few more infantry and transport units over the next few turns to finish prepping for my surprise attack on the US.

Germany fall 40

My subs upgrade to 3 attack and 3 evasion at the end of this turn and it should give me a turn or two with an advantage over the wallies efforts to stop my blockade attempts. I get greedy with the Italian sub moved through gibralter op-fire and its damaged by the lowly transport off Africa and we hang our heads in shame.

an interesting development in Italian east Africa this turn, due to the failed attempt to dislodge the militia there last turn it received veteran status with its kill on the attacking british militia. instead of staying a veteran militia it will upgrade to regular inf next turn

my attack this turn into Yugo causes Bulgaria and Hungary to see the writing on the wall and they sign up for the future field trip to Russia. I was hoping Romania would too but I wasn't that fortunate. notice also the War Readiness increases with an attack on the pro allied neutral. the US is still low and I've been fortunate to not receive any random adds due to transport kills with my subs. ( about a 20% chance to increase US WR by one with each transport I kill with a sub)

Germany ends the fall 40 season by moving a veteran inf and 2 more armor into Africa, we have equal unit numbers facing off for Cairo but I plan on getting the combined arms bonus to give me the edge and take it next turn.

I build lots of inf and arty to go with the 5 armor units started this turn and my unit numbers are reaching the right levels for an attack on Russia in the spring or summer. this 2-3 turn wait should give the Germans enough time to close the suez and build a supply surplus.

Japan fall 40

Japan, just like Chuck, doesn't sleep. It waits! I finish off the last Chinese factory and supply my strike force, notice the 5 subs are almost in position as well.

I can now afford to start finishing the builds in progress with Japan and will start to build a few more fighters that have been teched to 7/7. my subs and cag evasion are both one point away from upgrade. if i was Monty Burns I'd be tapping my fingertips together and saying 'excelent' at this point.

Excellent AAR. Did I hear you say that an elite militia will automatically upgrade to a regular infantry? Cool.

Also, how is Japan's economy before taking the Dutch East Indies etc? In GGWaW, I recall not having a lot of leeway for investing in tech, for example, but you seem to be investing steadily.

Likewise, what good does it do to bomb Chinese factories? In GGWaW they produced only 1 in every 3 turns anyway. Has that changed? Or do you get some sort of VPs for bombing them? Maybe you're looking to improve auto-victory odds? Is there still an auto-victory?

Germany winter 41

Germany needs to gear up for Russia so she needs to move armor and deal with Cairo, starting with the u-boats they cant cut off Britian but with the tech advantage they will be a pain. Two subs went gold last turn so is the word. (Britian goes on to kill the subs off Canada/west Africa the dirty buggers)

The Cairo crisis, kudos to combined arms I will need this tactic in Russia to succeed.

I kept the para and militia back but should've held an armor too as one inf made it to saftey and the para I sent couldn't dislodge it on its own due to air cover. I also lost a BB to arty, a bad choice to send it to battle.

I think I know where England got all those troops for Egypt! I send the bombers and move the stukas in range for later.

looks like Wallie is making the most of the winter invasion rules... I damage a transport and the other 2 bombers miss the factories.

I'm all but ready in the pacific to lay the smack down but need to wait for CAG evasion and some more supply ... the more the better cause if Japan doesn't bite the bullet and repair right away it seems her supply never makes it there again :(

Japan spring 41

Japan gambles no supply will be coming soon to China and starts to move some of the bombers to the fringes of the empire. Two more transports arrive and another is ordered along with some fighters. Our Strike force is ready, expect American iron at the bottom of the pacific very soon.

looking at the itelligence screen I'm dismayed by Japans reduced sigint ... I hesitently spend 9 supply to boost it to 3 half my security rating.

Germany spring 41

I'm down to three subs as the wallies AI gangs up on one or two a turn to destroy them. I replace two in Italy and send my only elite unit south away from the evil british DD's and cags. I break out into the Indian with another and it'll allow me sit on the unsupplied units i trapped at Cairo until I can bring fighters to deal with them.

BIG EDIT HERE: actually bomber units are considered at base now and the best way is to attack them with bombers not fighters.

I move troops into Bulgaria as a back up plan for a stubborn Rumania, I am considering going through Turkey to get to the Black Sea and the Russian resources and I'll call that operation, "Operation Turkey".

I am considering doing the wide flank on all of Russia at this point and I build a couple transports in Italy to capatize on the black sea if I decide to open it up.

Germany ends the turn in decent shape, i bite the bullet but I repair the rail in the forward territories in Russia ( negative combat modifier if i'm attacked with no rail )

I have to move on turkey now if I want to save the Italian fleet as it looks likes the Wallies moved into the central med this turn.
